Why should or would Woodward do any such thing? F King can find his own shovel to fill in the hole he dug LSU Into.

LSU is supposedly an institute of higher learning before it is a promoter of sports teams.
then why is it needing support from athletics?

I would imagine Woodward's little move will cause some backlash and he'll have to retreat. LSU is supposedly an institute of higher learning before it is a promoter of sports teams.

Not so sure about that. Don’t think Woodward just jumped in off a whim and made that announcement. Second of all he’s right. The school shouldn’t have to rely on the athletic department for that much money at this point. Third representatives from the school shouldn’t complain about the athletic boosters paying for player locker room upgrades and nutrition center when they academic side received over 50 million from the athletic department from 2012-2017.

LSU would survive without football. Football would not be around without LSU.

And F. King only still has a job from yearly bailouts... perspective.

I disagree. He is Da Man with the plan. I believe he has Carte Blanche to run it the way he sees fit. He did not agree to come home to take orders.

We should've hired Woodward as school President.

Wrong--i guess its hard for you to understand why the HC makes more than the Prez too. If you generate the money u deserve to control the money--period. Do away with crappy majors and BS classes.

The tail is making money and the dog is gonna have to find its own bones.

Oh my. LSU higher learning. We are not an Ivy League school. Football is king and brings in money. A lot of money. We have to compete with schools that have numerous deep pockets versus several. Woody wants to control the money in the athletic department to be able to keep up. If we are such an educational juggernaut then why does athletic donations surpass academic donations?

LSU is a state school with some fine academic departments, but it’s not Vanderbilt or Georgetown. We are known for athletics and the athletic department shouldn’t have to bail out the incompetents working in administration and government.

Woodward is the Athletics Director - all he did was end a policy that enabled an ‘entitlement’ mentality. I bet athletics will actually donate more and it will be appreciated vs expected. Great move in my opinion.
