Woodward will end up having to back pedal

I would imagine Woodward's little move will cause some backlash and he'll have to retreat. LSU is supposedly an institute of higher learning before it is a promoter of sports teams.
The perceived power of the TAF needs to be reined in hard. LSU controls the Tiger trademark, which means LSU has the power.
Athletes already have a lot of privilege at LSU so I'm sure there is some student and faculty resentment.
The tail is wagging the dog, and it is not a good look.

Woodward has been doing Louisiana politics longer than many of the posters on this board have been alive. He goes hunting and fishing and socializes with many of the movers and shakers. I trust his political acumen.
If you are right, Chin, then the state is making the mistake of trying to push out one of its best hires in years.
The state legislature needs to fund the academic programs appropriately.

Woodward is going to bring this program back to the promised land. Between locking down Roy & make sure our coaches are held accountable, it is evident we finally have the supervision we've needed for over a decade.

Then why does our institution of higher learning RELY on the $$$ donated to them from said sports teams (TAF) to bail them out?
Maybe it’s because the institution of higher learning sucks at budgeting and is run by a bunch of clowns?
