Then why didn't the coaches with Jac Caglionone, Wyatt Langford, Philip Abner, Brandon Sproat, and Hurston Waldrep win a title?

All of those guys (more MLB players than the LSU team) were available in the series where LSU didn't have Paul Skenes. Why didn't UF win a title?

What about the team with Nick Kurtz, Brock Wilken, Rhett Lowder, and Josh Hartle win a title? That team also had more MLB players than the LSU team they lost 2/3 to.

What about the team with Chase Dollander, Chase Burns, Seth Halvorson, Blake Burke, Christian Moore, Maui Ahuna, Drew Beam, and Dylan Dreilling? Why didn't they win a title? They had more MLB players than the LSU team.

The 2023 college world series is probably the most talented collection of teams and players in modern CWS history. LSU played the other best 3 teams. They beat them.

What about 2022 Tennessee that had 8 MLB players on it? They didn't even make Omaha. You're retarded.

Skeenes hasn't won anything in MLB? Ok. I must be wrong.

The year with Skeenes, Crews, and a few lucky plays? Hell no. ANY College Coach would have won the world series with those guys and probably without the lucky plays.

LSU doesn't win a Natty without Ackenhausen and Cooper.

Cooper, the guy he brought over from Arizona, should have been the MVP of the CWS. FWIW.

I am so tired of LSU fans discrediting Jay Johnson.

BTW, what he did his first season without a legit starting SEC pitcher was even more impressive. Winning like 17 SEC teams with those starters was incredible. Money and Hilliard.

but by all means, keep bashing him for having good players.

Absolutely insane to me.

I am getting so fired up, because it's 2024 with all the Jay Johnson bashing. It's so disrespectful to discredit what he has done for having some good players.

LSU does not win the CWS without several others players he brought in and the buttons he pushed. They beat Florida in a series where they didn't even throw Skenes. That Florida team was F-ing LOADED.

Stop discrediting what Jay accomplished.

Good players making good plays isn’t luck.

Good plays are now considered lucky?

Coaches get no credit for defensive positioning? Morgan, the best defensive first baseman in baseball, gets no credit for making a great play? White gets no credit for making a pitcher pay for hanging a breaking ball?

I would say UF got lucky to win in game 2 because JT made several mistakes and the wind was blowing out.

WF got lucky that Ty Floyd and Thatcher Hurd couldn't put them away in the winners bracket game.

None of what LSU did was luck.

Why do you keep ignoring the other 14 MLB players we faced in the CWS?

Did I say that? But what is a fact is every team we played in Omaha in 2023 has more MLB players than our 2023 team. People love to focus on Skenes and Crews but never want to think about key players who will never sniff the MLB (some even AA baseball or pro ball at all) like Dugas, Beloso (out of baseball after that season), Ackenhausen, Cooper (already been released), Travinski (out of baseball), Jobert (released), Pearson (out of baseball) etc. Most of the starters on that team basically have no future in baseball but all anyone want to talk about is the big 4 of Skenes, Crews, Morgan, and White.

Because those coaches were good. Johnson was just lucky.

Obviously.

It's also hilarious that the Skenes stuff (1) is used against him at all, and (2) Skenes didn't even pitch in the championship series

Jay had more than enough resources. Absolutely embarrassing and unacceptable.
As the Jay "Comfortable & Coasting" Johnson Sycophants scream "He won the CWS in 23 and 25 and we love him. We'll be Fine. Leave our worshipped idol alone."

This is so fun for me right now.

It's the same 2024 takes with these Jay Johnson bashers. I truly believe people just hate him and want him to fail and when he doesn't they have to keep quiet.

That Florida team that he beat WITHOUT throwing Skenes a single pitch was absolutely stacked. Oh how I love that I can always say he won that series without Skenes. They got to setup their starters perfectly too.

LSU had to beat a highly talented Tenn team without an elite starter as well. No credit though. More Skenes won the Natty talk.

This is the most fired up I have been all season, because I was encouraged by what I saw against Mississippi State. I am not worried about the pitching getting fixed next season. I love that LSU jumped out on their best starters. And I pumped to see the same stupid 2024 Jay Johnson bashing.

"ONLY WINS WITH ELITE TALENT" Who doesn't win with elite talent?

I would LOVE to see Miss St without their top 2 starters and no Ace Reese since we had no Jake Brown. How did LSU even compete. Love what I am seeing out of Serna and Arrambide.

Isn’t part of what makes Johnson an excellent coach is his recruiting ability , especially talent evaluations?

So we should expect much better results in that crucial area this summer and beyond.

And 2027 is another odd numbered year, when the team usually excells.

All of his Arizona teams raked but it’s different now with kids leaving because of money or playing time. He doesn’t have 3 years with a lot of kids to reach their full potential. Did Costello leave on his own or did Jay kinda show him the door?

Skip Bertman's last national title team had 6 future MLB players on it. Skip can't win without elite talent either I guess. Needed Albert belle to finally make it to Omaha. What a fricking bum

I think Costello just bailed. He has been horrible in Big 10 play, though
