Best hires, not necessarily in this order:
1. Saban
2. Skip
3. Arnspargar
4. Wade

. Go look at my postings about him and about how excited I am for him to be our coach. He is an awesome hire.

I’m old enough to know that your legacy isn’t made in a couple seasons.

HE IS A GREAT HIRE, so far. I need to see results before putting him in the class with the others.
Saban was actually fringe for me because of the years he was here (6 or 7?). However, it was his contribution as the other posters mentioned and bringing the first NC in 40+ years.

Great hires and legacy hires are 2 different things IMO.

Nick Saban was not a “good” hire at the time . LSU settled for him as like always the heavy hitters turned us down , he turned out to be a good coach “at LSU” . He was not a GREAT COACH AT LSU . Miles was a better coach at LSU than saban was . Skip is LSU’s goat hire.

Don’t care about the downvotes. He won a natty and went to a second one. Kept our program near the highest level. Ask Auburn or Florida State or Florida or Texas or USC about how hard it is to sustain a high level program

PM may be the most underappreciated coach in LSU history.

If you take a team from where we were late 90s to a NC in 03, your are 100% a great coach.

It's just as much about where you start out

This is 100% false. If you are going to smear a guy because you don’t like him at least get the facts straight

I hope O does great here, but no matter what he accomplishes he will always be a bad hire. You don't employ the least qualified person for an opening and call him a great hire just because the company hasn't gone bankrupt.

I agree with the sentiment of Skip, Saban, and Wade. I think it's a little early to annoint Wade into that group, but he coaches well and with passion and he recruits like a boss. The trajectory is certainly there to put him squarley in the conversation. He really is a Sabanesque basketball mind minus the old man/dick persona.
