Ed O. The football team finished 6th in the country and is trending well. He certainly reversed a downward trend. And the recruiting class this year should keep pushing us forward. Plus, we got him at a bargain, and he helped us save money from the Miles buyout. Without question, the football team drew a lot of attention in the media and was on a national stage pretty much every week.
Wade is also a good hire and has turned things around. But the recruiting this year is questionable at this point.
But when you look at the overall body and financial impact of things, Ed O has been a spectacular hire.
Yes I get the Wade homers and O haters will slam this post, as O was not a crowd favorite. But you cannot deny the facts.

Nick Saban was not a “good” hire at the time . LSU settled for him as like always the heavy hitters turned us down , he turned out to be a good coach “at LSU” . He was not a GREAT COACH AT LSU . Miles was a better coach at LSU than saban was . Skip is LSU’s goat hire.

Saban took a program that hadn’t won anything in 42 years to a conference championship in 2 years and a national championship in 4 years. He had multiple #1 ranked recruiting classes. He got the football ops facility built. He got the coz center for student athletes built. He was only here 5 years but don’t be ignorant and say he wasn’t “great” here.
