Possibly, once your name gets in the pool of players to be considered, it’s a difficult choice for committee.

You have no idea what you’re talking about.

Its a good bet that he will eventually make it in. Longevity + Special teams, one of the best of our Era.

Absolutely, no question, first ballot HOF.

I rank him slightly behind Everson walls.

Walls was vastly underrated, had Thanksgiving dinner with him a few years ago, he's an awesome man, great to talk to, donated a kidney to his best friend

He should. Take away Deion Sanders and I've never seen a better corner.
Along with Joe Burrow, Patrick Peterson was the best LSU player at his position I have ever seen. He dominated every opponent in every game he played at LSU.
A lot of people will say Julio Jones got the better of him in the rematch that LSU won, but Peterson dominated Jones in that game, too. The stats look good for Jones, but if you watch the game, you'll see that several of those completions were quick hitters to Jones, on which Bama expected Jones to bull his way to the sticks, bur Peterson dropped him short and forced the punt. And the only really good play Jones got, besides the quick slant TD, was when Peterson was on the bench with cramps.

He'll get in. Not only has he been around for a long time, but he was considered the best at 2 positions for a period in his career. Best lockdown corner and best return man.
I know sometimes players get overlooked because they weren't the best in the game during their era. Philip Rivers, for example, had to play in the shadow of Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers. He is also an 8x Pro Bowler, but he was never really considered in the top 3 at his position during his career, even though he is the 6th leading passer of all time and the 5 ahead of him were all first ballot HOFers. It is questionable whether Rivers will make it in.
If you are the best in the game, or one of the best at your position for a significant period of time and have a long career with multiple Pro Bowls, you are a lock - unless you do something off the field, like Pete Rose or Mark McGuire did.

Peterson will probably get docked 1st ballot for that PED suspension but he will get in after 2-3 years.
Pat P:
All Pro - 3 times
Pro Bowl - 8
All Decade 2010s
The better question is Honeybadger. His selection will be interesting but leaning yes.

Kyle Williams is interesting also. 6x Pro Bowler but no playoff wins, no all decade team, 1x he got 2nd team all pro. So, unlikely.

quote:sure, but through the 2023 season, his career earnings will be nearly $114 million.
Not sure but he'll get a great pension.
I think he'll be ok, regardless of the NFL pension.

Darrelle Revis made it on the 1st ballot. I can’t see how Peterson wouldn’t make it. Their stats are similar and Peterson has played longer.
Honey Badger I don’t think makes it. Only 4 All Pro or Pro Bowl years seems a thin resume.

I think the all decade team gets HB in…. It’s going to be the knock again ha Whitworth when it’s his turn.

I love Peterson, but Revis may have been the best shutdown corner ever.

This. The inductions should be less frequent. Peterson will definitely get in. Mathieu may very well get in years down the road. If you look at first ballot corners and throw out the super bowls, Peterson is as good or better than Willie Brown, Darrell Green, and Darrelle Revis on paper.
