Other accolades not mentioned are 4 time All Conference and All Rookie team by PFWA.
I think he eventually makes it in, but not at first.

Next to the players they're letting in now, he's a shoe in. He could be an all-pro safety to end his career. Like charles and rod Woodson.

Yes 1st ballot

He won’t be a first ballot and that’s not a knock on him. Champ Bailey was the last CB to go into the HOF and did it in year 1 five years ago.

him and Mathieu single-handedly turned around that Arizona defense

Does anyone speak English any more? We'll give you a pass on "him", but how do two people "single-handedly" do anything?

And he always was! How the hell SEC replay officials didn’t have HD monitors in 2009 will always be a mystery. Not that you needed HD to see the divot his foot left on the turf.

He's in elite company.

quote:

Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson was named to his eighth Pro Bowl on Tuesday, putting him in some very elite company.

Peterson is 28 years, 5 months old, the same age Barry Sanders was when he was named to his eighth Pro Bowl. The two of them are the two youngest players ever to be named to eight Pro Bowls.

Jim Brown, who was 28 years, 10 months old when named to his eighth Pro Bowl, is the only other player to be named to eight Pro Bowl teams before turning 29. Peterson, Sanders and Brown were already the only players to get to seven Pro Bowls before turning 28, and the three of them plus Emmitt Smith were the only players to get to six Pro Bowls before turning 27.

He and Mathieu quad-handedly turned the Arizona Defense around.

He also has 10-career receptions, 3 rushing attempts, and a 100% passer completion percentage, which are among the highest of DB in the last 2 decades.

first ballot

The whole notion of someone being a "first ballot" hall of famer irrationally irritates me. The baseball HOF is much worse about it than the others.

The player either deserves to be in the HOF, or he doesn't.
