They should be thrown under a bus along with every defensive coach on staff!

Should throw them under a steam roller after that performance. It’s time for them to start challenging this team. They play soft and with no pride. We need a guy like Texas dline coach that went after his team a few years ago to chew some arse this week

Yeah I watched his postgame press conference, and he did not do this.

His comments were fine. He was just as frustrated with the game and defense as all of us, which he should be.

Keep in mind, today’s era of NIL essentially makes these players pros. Pros are paid to perform, and pros are also susceptible to public criticism. Maybe we need to start adding performance clauses.

These aren’t children. They are grown men who, thanks to NIL, are free agents every year getting paid a handsome salary to produce on the field. They are not sheltered anymore by their scholarship. We can critique and criticize unfettered. They are PAID TO PRODUCE. Just like the coaches and NFL players.

This is what they wanted. Now they got it… the good and the bad. The pressure and the pay. Don’t ask fans to hold back now.

The players are mercenaries. Its not like these guys actually care about LSU.

Its all about NIL and paying enough money to attract better talent. These guys are pros who will run from paycheck to paycheck.

Holding players accountable for shitty play is now throwing them under the bus?

Not at all but when you basically say the Scheme is perfect and it is all on the players, you are.

Anyone with a brain can see issues with this scheme and playcalling, but saying it is entirely on the players is pure horseshite by a coward in Kelly.

So you ignored the part where he said there were no issues with the scheme?

I have an issue with someone putting all the blame on the players. He did just that.

I didn’t ignore anything. I just told you exactly what I heard. Word for word.

The coaches need a better tackling scheme.

With a better scheme the players in position to tackle would have done so.

No doubt the secondary needs better coaching, but coaches cant tackle for them.

They obviously are not schooled enough, often enough, strong enough on how to do their jobs...otherwise it would come naturally. Our players play slow because they don't always know what to do, when to do it, etc.
We line up the exact same on every dang play. the offense knows how to attack it because they see it every play. There is rarely any indecision on who/how to block our defensive players. We give 8-10 yds cushion at the snap of the ball on 3rd and 5 yd plays. What qb can't exploit that?
Give me a DC that will at the very least attack the offense on occasion. Just be different sometimes.
LSU did it once in the game and we got a sack, qb had no time to find a receiver. LSU has do more of that or receivers will run wide open in every game against our grass guarding zone like defense. We are not close enough to receiver when they catch passes to not be juked and miss tackles. Change that or get used to yesterdays results.

When you see three and four missed tackles on majority of plays, or zero effort to get off blocks you have a player problem.

Coaching sucks too, mainly on talent assessments

Yes, there were missed tackles, but also play calls that left wide open receivers and RBs.

Missed tackles were rarely the reason for 3rd down conversions being given up. They simply turned an already bad play into disasters.

Again, scheme and play calling are he biggest issue, because they are not giving the players a chance to make drive stopping plays. They are being given a chance to make plays after conversions by the offense.

Good coaches adjust to their talent and wrk on ways around their dawa to be even just mediocre. Instead, we are told teams like Tulane have more defensive talent than LSU.

Coaches are responsible for the players on this team, not the other way around.

He better talk softly. The way he is recruiting, those are the same players he will have next season.

But, we are constantly being told LSU recruits itself?
