I see the resident O haters are falling over themselves in this thread. I would ask, do you support Lane Kiffin being hired as head coach here?

Actually I did not, and my posts at the time reflected it.

But he's my coach now and I hope for success for LSU, I always do.

Saban ran off Kiffin and saw his ego
Smart was not HC before, neither was Stoops
Sark wanted to get sober, O has no intentions.
Nice try
Spin again snapper head.

But for real he looks rough. Looks like he has a botched facelift

He looks like Wayne Newton. Someone really fricked up his face.

It's almost sad how he looks now. He is a great recruiter and motivator but he just doesn't look the same doing it. It's the outfits he wears and all the bandaids. I guess he is just getting old. But something is off.

It's very difficult for anyone who has millions to go back to living on 150k/year (nearly impossible in my opinion). I'm not doubting your math here but the practicality of expecting Ed to adjust his lifestyle to be able to live on 150k annually. It can be done but not "comfortably" as you suggest.

ETA: on another note, learn how to use the quote button. It's very simple and it makes your posts easier to follow. It's a square button right next to the message box.

I hear what you are saying. But there are a lot of multi- millionaires that got to where they are at by spending less than 150,000 per year. Living within your means, saving money, investing it wisely and being debt adverse are how many people become multi-millionaires and they continue these habits and live a comfortable life. I have no idea how much Ed spends or what is investment portfolio is like.. But if reasonably fugal he can not have to worry about money of daily life, enjoy travel, have nice cars and live a great life especially if he lives in an area with reasonable cost of living.

Ed wasn't one of those people. Far from it in fact. And to my original point, if you see Ed as some responsible, frugal person you are delusional. Old men don't pick up blonde smoke shows half their age by being frugal with their money.

Yeah, it kinda reminded me of the oil boom in the 80;s when all these coonasses started getting mineral rights checks. When the boom ended some crashed hard.

Ed definitely seemed to burn through that buyout money fast. Now he could sell his place in Destin and buy a modest house here and live very comfortably......he could.....sure. Will he?

I rather think he'll do paid speaking gigs, maybe do some commercials, footrball camps, things like that to supplement his salary.

he can easily keep his place in destin, travel on exotic vacations, and still live comfortably if he invested wisely. I have no idea if Ed is blowing through his money or not, but with the stock market returns of the last few years you can do all the things I stated above and still make good money as a retiree.

I don’t think it was ever that anyone didn’t want him around. It was just that it had to be in the right spot and in the right capacity. No one wanted him to have an on field role.

I'm sure you could live comfortably and make sound financial decisions with that amount of money in the bank and a 100k salary. A lot of people could. But this thread isn't about you it's about Ed. The 64 year old horn dog with a 35 year old smokin hot wife. The guy who jogs around town shirtless and frequents bars and beaches and likes to rip his shirt off during public speaking engagements and TV commercials. He's not conservative or frugal. He's loud, boisterous and aggressive. That's who he is.

that's a big if. Maybe he has a buddy who provides financial advice. Otherwise, I honestly can't see O investing wisely.
