15 or so extra practices for Lane and the staff to evaluate players especially guys who don’t have much game tape.

Because we have some players who may never play another snap of football on their life, others who don’t get much playing time now and we can get them some valuable game action for next season

Because the players have stuck through a tough year, played their hearts out and deserve it.

The reason teams accept is because the have a contractual obligation to do so absent compelling circumstances. However, were that not the case, I would put it up to a team vote as to what they would like to do. If the guys would prefer to shut it down and rest from the 4 month grind of the season (Aug - Nov), rather than play a largely meaningless quasi-exhibition game, I would not force them to play.

Bowl games aren’t the honor and great trip they once were. The TV networks’ demand for content and conferences’ desire for more and more money diluted the meaningfulness of bowl games. Let the players decide what they want to do

It used to be that bowl practices were really important to get extra practice time for younger guys. Now, especially with this team a lot of the roster won’t even be here next year so it’s not a very big deal.

ESPN has LSU & Nebraska in the MC Bowl.

We owe those jackwagons payback for the 1985 Sugar Bowl.

Well for one it’s for the players, so I’m pretty sure they don’t give a shite what you want. They get a trip to play ball, as well as free stuff from all the sponsors and usually have fun outings with the other team. I think overall the players enjoy it.
And for us it’s another opportunity to watch the tigers play.

Outside of money what's the purpose of playing a bowl game, when Kiffin and the staff he may keep can be focused on recruitment and the portal?

Bowl practice means nothing. Half the team will be gone next year lol this isn’t 2014 anymore

15 extra practices is enough for Lane to see what those guys look like who haven’t played much or at all. They might be freshman or sophomores. It allows him to evaluate our potential depth.

Bc there are seniors and guys that care about being able to play there last game as a Tiger. It’s selfish to cancel let it all hang out who ever wants to play and get that opportunity. Some will sit out and can’t blame them with money in the line. But some have no chance at that money and got nothing to lose just a chance at being a larger part of the team

this.

Even more important with a new coach to evaluate players with Magic Portal ignition right around the corner.

Practice for what, they won't be running the same offense and possibly the same defense. Just a waste of time imo
It's really a shame how low the average LSU fan IQ is. I mean, I love LSU, but our fan base is just really dumb. I hate it for them/us.

Game experience, practice and the brand exposure is always worth it. You should never decline a bowl game.

It’s weird huh? LSU football fans wanting to watch the team one more time before the season ends? I don’t get it.

Practice getting reps is always an opportunity to get better. Practice beating your man. Practice competitiveness. Practice not being a bitch. All things that need practice.

The schools that decline because they are changing coaches need to focus on changing their mind set, because they have the mindset of a bitch.

That’s why I commend LSU for playing a few years back when we had to start a WR as qb.
