While we are at it, put the coach that drove him back to Baton Rouge from Austin up there, too.

I agree with honoring Tittle. Jerry Stovall finished 2nd for the Heisman , and should have won it. Both should be honored, imho.

It might have more to do with what he did in college, not the NFL.

Either way, I agree...he should be honored and while he's still able to attend the game when his name is unveiled.

Tittle absolutely belongs and IMO in a few decades when the younger generation of LSU fans is running things we should put Kevin Faulk up there too

I like how it's going right now, slow and sure. In due time they will be in and it will make it that much more special. We don't want to fill up the whole thing in the first couple seasons

Faulk def needs to be on there eventually. Got his degree, was huge for that time in our program, solid NFL career. I think he is in the Louisiana Hal of fame too.

If Dorsey got his degree he should ultimately be up there too.

Getting a jersey retired is the biggest honor that a team can give a player. I really can't think of many that deserve the honor other than Dorsey.

Tittle isn't listed as a college All-American

Faulk and Dorsey in due time.

I think Kevin Faulk should be the next one in the Ring of Honor.

Tittle has to be close to 90. Needs to happen before he is no longer with us.

not sure what you mean for "ring of honor" but if you mean the new area being built on west side entrance you have to be an all american to get there. As for LSU hall, I agree, but not sure you count the NFL stuff...

To have a jersey retired at LSU, an athlete must have completed intercollegiate competition for LSU a minimum of five years prior to nomination. Athletes must have demonstrated truly unusual and outstanding accomplishments, exceeding and in addition to all criteria used for Hall of Fame selection. The athletic performance must be considered unique, such as winning of a Heisman Trophy or National Player of the Year award, and should be based on the total LSU career. Athletes may also be considered for making dramatic impact on the popularity of his or her sport or for significant participation in positive change in LSU Athletics. Nominees must have a unanimous vote of support from the Hall of Fame committee.

That whole description screamed "Kevin Faulk" to me. Completely changed the landscape of in-state recruiting. Made it "cool" to stay home and play for LSU again.

I know Y.A. Met with him many times in the last few years.

If we're going to get him in the Ring, better do it quick. His memory is starting to slip a little bit, and he's not getting any younger.

Personally, I can't understand why LSU doesn't understand this. They've chosen to honor Billy Cannon and Tommy Casanova yet again before thinking of those that came before them.

Steve Van Buren and Gus Tinsley are two examples of early period players who also should already be honored.

Cannon and Casanova are of course deserving, but there are parts of LSU's administration that are still caught up with kissing Cannon's butt a bit too readily. Don't really understand it.

Anyhow, I'm just glad LSU is actually doing this sort of thing. Why has it taken so long to get the ball rolling on this?
