with championships? Is it because the press likes saying five in a row. You alwyas hear the last 5 national champs but never 6 of the last 8 national champs are from the SEC. Just Feel the 2003 Squad never gets its due.Sad thing is the 2003 team was better the the 2007 squad.

id say the general consensus for current run would be the last 10 years. Anything over that would be considered old

After dominance over everybody not named Nebraska or FSU from 1995 to 1999, the SEC had a mini down period from about 2001 to 2005. In 2006 the SEC stormed back...

Because "five in a row" only has four words in that sentence and "six of the last eight" has five or six. Can't be sure though, I don't have my glasses on.

If the world is pissed at SEC dominance in the BCS era, wait till they put in a playoff.

They'll be talking 14 in a row...

A guy on one of the million preview shows on ESPN (can't remember who it was) recently said the SEC won 5 of the last 6...

Literally true, but an idiot, nonetheless.

I wish they would recognize that the SEC has won 7 of the 13 BCS championship games; better than 50%.

I believe it's because the #1 ranking was a split between BCS (LSU) ans AP (USC). It appears that the BCS has more balls now that Pete Carol (anti-Christ) is back in the NFL.

Five consecutive is more impressive than six of last eight.

You can thank USC's media fan base for that one (and because they also had a great team).

Has nothing to do with USC and the 2003 drama. "5 in a row" sounds better then "6 out of 8."
