Just asking a serious question (before you bring the downvotes). Is spring game attendance a good indicator of interest and hype around the program? Seems like other teams have way better attendance than we do.

I would say that spring game attendance has an inverse relationship to the average intelligence of the fan base.

No. The poor attendance is indicative of how many things in SoLa are more fun than watching football practice at 1pm on a Sat in April.

I’ve been to one and it was cool to see spring football but I don’t have plans to go again.

Believe me.. I don’t want to go sit next to the fans who go to a FREE game. I can watch Swamp People on TV

Nah, I think our attendance is about average compared to other SEC teams.

AS I see it, you just don't get all of the socialites at the spring game like you do at regular season games. Spring game crowd is comprised of a lot of families and some scattered football junkies (like me). The weather is sometimes bad and there really is not a competetion, so you don't get the interest.

It's not an actual game, (It's a practice) it's at 1pm and it's boring.

Having an actual game against an LSU Football Alumni team at 7pm would make it worth attending.

Wild Horses couldn't drag me out to a glorified football practice at 1pm...……..

TV is the ruination of attendance.

There was so much more going on last weekend. A doubleheader baseball outing vs #1 in the SEC kind of blunted enthusiasm for spring football.

I think there is a higher percentage of people that would rather watch an actual baseball game over a football scrimmage than people realize.

When the coach says they aren’t going to show anything and run vanilla packages why go? He didn’t do much to sell it.

I think a spring game (in regards to great attendance) is a relatively new concept. I don’t remember anyone touting spring game attendance in the mid 90’s.

I think there is an inverse relationship between stuff to do in the spring in said state and the spring game attendance (would you rather spend a few hundred bucks going to jazz fest or go to the spring game?).
