Looks like we are bleeding players but not really adding transfers. We know we need transfer help on defense. Are we waiting to shop later or do we have them in the bag already? Looks like we are idle with the coaching changes aspect also. Many team are purging coaches and adding and we are just sitting.
Not really looking to argue but would like some opinions.

They literally just added 30 new players to the roster a week ago.

Last count I saw there were over 90 scholarship players for next year.

That means we need another 5 players to leave just to get to even and then will still have to swap one for one to bring new players in.

Heard would be the only transfer that’s unexpected. BK has actually done well in retaining players so far. Now getting big time players this year is an issue as it seems we’re not throwing money around like some of these other schools. Could be a good sign that we have confidence in the young guys coming in. Could also be bad as our NIL collective might be a shite show and we may have some real issues

Younger players but they are the building blocks. Trust me when top players leave it will be quick because someone got to them with a check. I think that will come.

To be honest, it’s been a nice change that LSU isn’t a live stream behind the scenes anymore. Kelly is running a real program and he always seems to have a solution to these “unexpected” transfers, coaching changes. I trust him to do the right things for the program. He’s also not looking for band-aids so he can have immediate success, he wants to leave the program better than ever before when he steps away. We saw what a band aid does, we get one year of unbelievable football, followed up by multiple years of embarrassment.

Geaux Kelly & Co. !

Take your tampon out. I'm pretty sure we have more than 85 on the roster right now.

Wake the hell up. Come here and read every day. Try the recruiting board from time to time.

Absolutely no one on this board or in the media has any clue about what Brian Kelly is doing, and I like it that way. Much more refreshing than having a coach who just called a few people and hired the people they recommended, or hiring a washed up coordinator without even interviewing him.

As far as losing players to the portal, just look around. LSU has done as well as anyone in the entire country at retaining players. Absolutely no one has done better. Other schools are losing key starters, which hasn't happened thus far with LSU.

Bleeding players?

The one guy they had to keep, Sage Ryan, they pulled back in.

What are you talking about

There is usually shakeup around the country after Spring practices and the next Transfer window opens. The coaches have a better idea of what holes they still need to fill after Bowl and Spring practices.

Guys can develop a great deal during those practices and you can get an idea if an early enrollee is going to be able to play as a freshman or if you need to get someone from the portal to plug a hole.

Don't forget that Burrow didn't transfer in until after losing the job at OSU that Spring and our QB's looking lackluster in Spring camp.
