I’m hoping it humbled the lil guy. Everyone benefits from a reality check every now and then.

Yea which would put as at a disadvantage since teams that are eliminated would be going full bore while we had to split our time coaching and recruiting.

I never said that, but a lot of people have tried to say it opened while LSU was in the middle of the CWS run and as a result didn’t have a chance to recruit targets before they committed elsewhere, That is simply not true.

3/5 seasons haven't met the LSU baseball standard.

With 3 of the best pitchers in program (and SEC) history that were pro-ready, two of which were one-year rentals.

If we don't get those pitchers, no championships. What are the odds that we get program-changing MLB-ready pitchers every year?

10 out of Paul’s 15 seasons didn’t meet the standard.

It's stupid you even had to make that statement as if there is a question as to how great a coach he is.

part of it is true when Tennessee actually did this twice to LSU in ‘23 and ‘25 for top pitchers in the portal. Some of your top portal guys are playing in regionals and supers as well so when you’re in Omaha you’re focused is on that and not giving 100% recruiting to those guys. After Omaha if you’re playing in the championship series you only have 1 week to focus solely on recruiting the portal while most have had 2 weeks to host and get guys.

I’m not interested in anointing anyone. My point is this year’s team performance should exclude Jay from that anointment because the best in sports don’t allow that to happen. If someone wants to explain how the massive flaws in this team’s performance is not a result of Jay’s actions, I’m all ears to listening to that argument.

2/5 championships and better than 0/4 seasons being acceptable like a coach that you let have a million excuses

77-72 in the SEC doesn’t make him the best coach in the country.

Which SEC Coaches have a better record? What is their record vs JJ?

One bad season is not indicative of his accomplishments.

Yep. I agree but was just tired of every post yesterday almost calling for his head.

I still have confidence in Jay but he is not the “best damn coach in the country” because this level of sub-par performance does not happen w/ the best in any sport.

Not sure about you but I want the best coach at LSU. If it’s not Jay, then who would you say it is.

You are correct but it took much more time than just 2 weeks prior to CWS.

In 2025, the NCAA Men's College World Series (MCWS) took place from June 13 to June 22, 2025. The primary NCAA Division I baseball transfer portal window. for that season was open for 30 days from June 2 to July 1, 2025.

You should have faith in him because in the last 6 years he has been to the cws 3 times with 2 different programs. In those 3 visits he has won the National Title 2 times.

He is currently 1 of 2 college baseball head coaches with multiple national titles.
