Ideally late I'm the process so lane can sign a few guys then slip Trinidad in there late in the process lol

Why would the NCAA grant him another year? Didn’t he graduate already?

If Chambliss were wearing an Ohio State or Alabama jersey this year with those same numbers he would’ve been in New York as a Heisman finalist. He excelled in his first year in the SEC from freaking D2. And he will only get better if granted another year.

Their insiders are shittier than ours. I wouldn’t put much stock into anything they say.

He played in 2 games as a freshman, by FBS criteria that should be a redshirt year. The NCAA has nothing to gain from not granting him another season in the FBS.

He played 2 games as a REDSHIRT freshman in 2022 after redshirting in 2021. By FBS criteria, he was NOT eligible for another redshirting without a medical waiver. That’s apparently what they are trying to argue but there is little information available on what evidence they have to support the claim.

The track record of the Ole Miss reporters the last month has been about as good as the 2025 LSU offensive line.

Because he is no longer eligible, his argument is more similar to those the NCCA has denied than to any of those that have been granted.

What’s your proof of this, other than wanting to disagree with OP for sake of disagreeing?

Somebody posted a little bit ago that Chambliss was granted his 6th year but the thread got whacked immediately. Not sure if the person that posted that is legit or what. Obviously admins didn’t want us seeing it lol

It's not even really necessary to tie his potential value in this situation to his own "personal greatness" as a quarterback.

Trinidad Chambliss was on the roster at Ferris State in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. Then Ole Miss in 2025. Ferris is a D2 school under the umbrella of the NCAA. As such, his situation is different from those players who started in Junior College or NAIA school, which does not fall under the governance of the NCAA.

I fully expect Chambliss to lose this one. He may file suit if he does, as Pavia did, but the situation is different because Pavia was at a JUCO.

I would not mind being wrong, though.

Not angry, just pointing out he is misinformed. Chambliss was a freshman in 2021 and redshirted. Played 2 games in 2022, 8 in 2023, 15 in 2024, and 12 so far this season.

If all he needed was a redshirt waiver, he would have that already; it is granted automatically if you meet the requirements. He is out of eligibility.

The second the ruling is handed down, it will be all over ESPN and social media.

Wait, of all the quarterbacks in the country that Lane could have (I would say that he could pick from 95% of ALL available HS and transfer portal QBs) are we sure that's who we even want?
