Why does everyone keep saying we aren’t competing for championships this year?

Every time we step on the field we have a realistic chance to win.

Our Defense is playing on a championship level. Our offense continues to find ways to get it done.

Ole miss and Fla are run based this year.
Bama is missing it’s QB
Arky and AnM are both run based teams
Miss and Aub are in the rear view

I like our chances.

If someone needs to explain it to you then you don't follow football very much.

Well, we are 2-0 in the SEC, so there's that.

IMO, it is going to be hard to end up 8-0 or even 7-1 in the SEC which is what we'd need to compete in the SECCG. (7-1 might not get us there if Bama or Ole Miss is 8-0!) We simply are not deep enough at most positions to go 8-0 or 7-1 in the SEC this season. And our special teams is abysmal so far and cost us our only loss to date.

We need another 1-2 topnotch recruiting/portal classes to be really competitive for an SEC title.

Sometimes I think, maybe expecting 8 wins this year is a bit much of me. Then I get on here and see shite like this…

Ole miss was just as active as us in the portal. What makes them better than us.

I’m certainly not the doom and gloom negative mf that so many are on here. But man, you need to pump the brakes on your expectations of this season just a bit. It’s a complete rebuild year. Take it a game at a time and enjoy the wins.

Because we are not there yet. This is not a championship team in case you haven’t noticed.

I mean I’m all about some sunshine pumping but some of y’all need to temper expectations. Our defense is good, but we have a pretty bad offense. We’re currently 121 out of 132 teams in passes over 20 yards and I hate to break it to you but Jayden Daniels isn’t about to all of a sudden start lighting it up. What we’re looking for in improvement each week and a 9-3 season would be great. We’re treading water until the o line cavalry comes along with Walker Howard

The realist in me says that both Les and O made it to a Natty pretty quick after taking over. Both took over vastly different teams than what CBK inherited, but neither could coach up the team very well. Whoever you saw in the first game looked like the same team at the end of the season. We've seen our team change each week (with minimal setbacks). Our biggest liability is QB right now. If they can figure out how to get JD5 clicking or Nuss clicking, I can see us being competitive.

It would be hard to win it this year, but that is always the case. We are 2-0, and like you said, every sec team has issues this season. No reason to write off this season already.

Exactly, really just depends on the QB position. If either JD or Nuss can start clicking with these recievers, everything else is there for us.

Not hard to play good defense when you have played 1 team with a top 20 offense(which you lost) and 1 team with top 50 offense. New Mexico and Southern are 2 of the worse teams in the country and Auburn is possibly the worse team in the SEC or one of the bottom 3. Play that same type of defense over the next 4 weeks and you can have something to talk about then.

Nah just a realist. Nothing insecure about y’all getting skull fricked in 3 days. And most “real” LSU fans even agree you will get drug.
