re: Why do the Patriots and Bama keep winning? Good read. It's all about Mindset.

I'll give the Pats their due. They operate under a salary cap like all other NFL teams, deal with FA, injuries, etc. NOT a fan, but credit to their organization for sustained excellence.
For Bama/Saban - recruit, pay (yes, their FB 'stipend' is by far the highest in the SEC) and control the best HS/college players annually. I believe countless other CFB teams work as hard, or harder, have excellent coaches, but DON'T have the ability to replace an injured 5-star with another 5-star, or 4-star at the worse. Sure helps....

If you're saying Alabama has an organizational commitment to winning, then yes that's true. That's a credit on to them. That's what it takes as it does with anything else.
If you try harder than everyone else to win, then you'll win more than everyone else will.
And I would bet anything that if you were to tally expenditures on staffing, front office and organizational infrastructure, the Pats would be near the top of the list.
I don't buy the BS excuses when LSU does enough things to get in its own way, like hiring a HC that no one wants and allow him to hire an OC that no one wants.

If you don’t think the gumps bend the rules or treat out right you are as clue less as the folks in charge of LSU and the whole damn state.
Posted on 1/25/18 at 2:59 pm to TigerFanNKaty
And do you believe that LSU isn't doing the same thing?
Posted on 1/25/18 at 3:19 pm to TigerFanNKaty
I know the gumps bend the rules but I'm also not naive enough to think that LSU or other major programs don't do it. The bottom line is Alabama wins like they do because Nick Saban is extremely good at his job.

Players also choose not to seek moving on from New England and play for less, thus keeping continuity and good players longer than other NFL teams. Having Tom Brady all those years has made it easier to decide to stay, but that’s my take on it.

For the record, that article literally does not mention Alabama.
it did not mention anything. It literally says "want to win" and "work hard"
GROUNDBREAKING

Demanding excellence top to bottom and excepting nothing less. Going the extra mile to make sure you have the very best in all aspects. Everyone involved pushing toward a common goal.

Saban is the GOAT.
But it’s all about a mindset of excellence that’s set at the top. Then everyone has to buy into the common goal/vision (admin, coaches, players, fans, etc.)
Unfortunately, Alleva and Orgeron don’t seem capable of getting it done based on the information we have today

Didnt see Bama mentioned in that article one time. In college football all the teams are limited to the same amount of practice time and similar activities because they are student athletes. So for them it starts with the players they get and then goes to what you do with that time...

Freeze didn't "consistently" beat Alabama. He was like 2-3 or something like that. About like malzahn percentage wise.
As far as hiring him goes, don't blame Bama and if any impropriety took place to block that then get it out there in public. The rest of the college Football world would back u in trying to take down Bama in a heartbeat.

Good read
terrible read actually.
Nothing of any actual value is said. "It's hard here" is the jist of the whole article with no examples to support that.

Patriots get caught tampering with footballs that had an impact on the actual game and nothing
I never understood this advantage much. Having a better grip on the football has nothing to do with how bad the opponents defense is. You still have to block, run routes, read defenses, and throw the ball accurately. Tom Brady has been doing that far too long with normal balls. People are just tired of losing to him so they act like pussies

Yep and add to that the fact that the Colts couldn't score anyways in that game and the refs discovered the underinflated balls at halftime and NE still scored a bunch of points with the balls inflated properly. All of that crap was about TB12 not turning over his cell phone, not underinflated footballs.

No, but the first thing Saban had to do at LSU was to change the mindset. And the same when he got to Bama
You have no idea how true this is...oh and he could have given a shite if he didn't talk like the rest in LA...that wasn't his objective. What was needed and how to get it, was an inspiring message. It was about putting a face on the program that would "make young men and athletes want to come to LSU to win". That's the face he put on LSU.
Most of the infrastructure has continued, but the mindset as you note has not even...and the face is far from optimum.

Exactly. One thing I never see written on here but that Bama is expert at; money laundering. Completely legal but there is a chain of indecipherable shell companies funneling money to the recruits handlers. Also their players are clearly roided up beyond anything any other team does. The proof? Look at pictures of players at Bama and then when they’re in the NFL, every last one of them has shrunk drastically from their college days because they are tested by the league in the NFL so they have to quit PEDs. They leave no stone unturned in using every loophole. Really the program should be held up as the shame and disgrace of college football instead of people talking about what a great system they have
