Why do the Patriots and Bama keep winning? Good read. It's all about Mindset.

Having 15 5* players and arguably the best college coach that ever lived also kind of helps....

Culture, high expectations, and zero tolerance for bullshite excuses.

Basically the opposite of how O and Alleva have been running the program.

Bending rules, cheating, getting every important call, stacking the offices with your friends.

Funny, I didn’t see anywhere “because he talks like us” being credited with reasons for success.

Stop with the cheating excuse. LSU and every other major college program cheats just as much and you live in fantasy land if you think otherwise.

For the record, that article literally does not mention Alabama.

It's sad we have so many fans that hate greatness and make excuses for mediocrity.

No, but the first thing Saban had to do at LSU was to change the mindset. And the same when he got to Bama.

Saban had a NC by his third year at Bama. That was not some ridiculously stacked team he had. He has an unflinching commitment to excellence.

He doesn't give a damn about coach loyalty or if they're friends or not or any of the other dumb crap our coaching staff gets mired in. Can you do the damn job or not? That's all he cares about.

The Patriots literally got caught video tapping opponents

The Saints give players incentives for turnovers and big hits and the NFL slams the entire organization. Patriots get caught tampering with footballs that had an impact on the actual game and nothing

Our fanbase is fricking obsessed. Literally obsessed with Nick Saban and Alabama. So much so that you started a thread about an NFL article (solely about the New England Patriots) so you could draw parallels to alabama (on an LSU board).

Sec headquarters is where? Yea , thats what I thought . So yea while everyone may cheat , One in particular in birmingham Alabama has a huge advantage over all others . Yes , they are good , have a good coach but they also have help.

I agree w you on Ala. but in the pros I think it is a mindset. EVERYONE in NFL wants a championship ring. Money is non-issue. It also helps that New England gets great players. The thing about the Patriots/Ala. is they play "the game within the game" at times. They go 3 running plays and run off the field to punt in middle of the game. Then they march down the field with precision when it counts. Throwing up hail Mary's and getting pass interference calls are also part of the game plan. Genius coaches and play calling when it counts. LSU used to be that way..... We'll be back....

Nothing mentioned about Bama in that article.

Saban was at Miami and just how did that work out?

This won't "just happen." LSU was like this when Saban was coach and in the first few years of Miles' tenure. I don't see this happening as long as O is HC. He won't have teams that "play the game within the game" or consistently "march down the field with precision when it counts." They will be an undisciplined, finger-pointing team because they will reflect the temperament and lack of vision of their HC.

But hey, I guess we're doing our part to ensure that head coaches' salaries don't continue rising to obscene levels.

They keep winning because that's what college football and Roger Goodell want. Ratings and money is all it's about.
