Why do non-LSU fans love coach O so much

I get it a lot that LSU is crazy for firing O and that it’s insane that he’s not somewhere coaching now. It’s a very common opinion for everyone outside of the LSU fan base.

These are more of the casual fans that actually don’t really follow the sport close enough to understand why. Right?

I don’t think any of this is true. Everyone knows he’s a clown.

Just talk to people. It’s a thing I’m telling y’all. Ask non LSU fans what they think of O

I think you might need to work on the structure of your OP, as it reads differently than you might have intended.

You can love him while still not wanting him as a coach.

They are welcome to clamor for THEIR teams to hire him. I don’t see anyone doing that, though.

I do not see that. If "they" say that it is driven by the fact that O is such a perfect loser that so long as he was HC at LSU, LSU would remain a pig show.

They say the same about Miles

They’re ignorant to the situation. Basically, picture from 5,000 feet away.

I have some good friends from Big 10 country who incredulously asks this very question, AND are still convinced Brian Kelly at LSU is a really bad cultural fit. Seems after 17 years of Miles and Orgeron, sports fans from afar just assume Louisiana is just one big Carnival so the football coach at LSU has to be a clown to fit in. Find this perception to be very frustrating.

Because most fans of teams have never experienced a national championship and O went 15-0 with one of the best teams in history, he is an unusual/likable guy and he can tell a lot of funny stories.

Most people (other than LSU fans) weren't paying attention to how far the program was falling with roster issues, etc., or that O was taking selfies in bed with dumb bimbeauxs that were being posted online instead of focusing on his job more. It was time for him to go. With that said, 2019 was the GOAT.

Of course they loved him at lsu just like les miles, they love for lsu to have a clown at the head spot to keep us down. How many of these people would want him coaching their team because he's available

I travel for work, I fly out every week. I always wear LSU shite. No one has once told me "You should have kept CEO" or "I am surprised he isn't coaching somewhere"

He fits the stereotype of a Louisiana coach. I think this also pushes the Kelly is a new to a good fit notion. Pretty morning much ignorance on their part.

What's not to love when your competition is an incompetent comic book character?

I’ve experienced this too. I was at a bar in Knoxville the week Tennessee played Pitt and I had numerous people tell me Ed O was a better coach than Kelly simply because he won a natty. One Clemson fan there told me we would regret hiring Kelly and that he’s awful. I just laughed at all of them and told them they had no clue what they were talking about.

Why do some people love the Adam Sandler movies of the 90s. There is a certain charm to the goofy underdog ending up winning and getting the girl, girls in this case!!

He’s a likeable guy And a man’s man. Most people I know from out of state not affiliated with LSU really like the guy.
