Made the decision to turn on the country that made him a millionaire and gave him more opportunity that any country in the world could.

He paid the price with a shortened career. He deserved what he got.

He started all 16 games his final season and was on the field for 99% of Carolina's snaps, but he was a non factor.

where do you people come from?

He had 130 tackles, 4 sacks, 1 FF, 2 FR.

In what world is that a non factor?

We should revoke your Tiger card for turning on a Tiger & see how you like it

I don't have a Tiger card so it cannot be revoked. Reid picked his road and paid the consequence of his actions. Nothing to turn on, he chose what he received.

The type of safety he was became extinct right around the time his career ended. If you can’t cover you can’t play in the modern NFL.

That was 2016 and he played in all but 6 games for the 3 years after that. His stats weren’t bad but not great. He didn’t have a pick his last year. Tho his stats look like he may have been used more like a LB.

IDK the answer to the OP's question because I don't watch NFL. Ironically, Eric is one of the reasons I don't.

But politucal views aside, Eric is one of my all-time favorite Tiger DBs. His int vs Ba*ma* in '11 should have gone down as one of the greatest plays in our history. Instead, it will be mostly forgotten. He was a hitting machine in P&G.

I hope he will someday see the error of his ways and get back in the good graces of Tiger fans.

Injuries made him far less effective and when you’re an average player you can’t be controversial.

While he had a few good years, it didn’t last long. Why did he flame out? Was it all just because of getting political and caring more about being a sjw than playing football or was there injuries? Hard to believe he didn’t play a decade in the league.

Simply put, it was a combination of a number of things including what you listed.

Iirc, He played for four different head coaches in his first five seasons in the league with the 49ers who drafted him. He had a collusion lawsuit against the NFL which likely led to even more teams not wanting to deal with him than the protest stuff. He played a couple years with the Panthers, even signing a contract extension, but was released a year later in a business decision. He then turned down a few offers to return….probably could have extended his career another few years but didn’t seem to want to.

I’ll also say this RE his brother, Justin seemed to be more of a late bloomer and also didn’t have the miles on him coming into the NFL.

My guess is it was the Collusion Case that ultimately led to him not continuing. He clearly had game.

Probably one of the best humans that put on a Tiger uniform.

Being a very good human doesn’t cut it on the Rant.
His political views are not acceptable here.
He had a good NFL career and continued to play and perform well regularly after the kneeling incident that so many here consider taboo.

And he was one of the smartest too, so I doubt he’s broke. That narrative doesn’t fit here ??
