He took a huge risk by sitting out.... I have a feeling that he left because he was scared of an injury..... while I can understand that to a point.... but playing this year would have helped him more than hurt him..... I think he can be a star, but NFL Gm’S all look at what have you done for me lately........and they have not seen Chase in game action in a year.......

PEEEEEEJJJJJ, one of the worst posts I have seen in a while. Chase is probably the only player this makes sense to opt out. 1st Round pick lock. Has injury stock hurt and may plummet to 2nd or 3rd round.

You really cant go out any higher than he did. Best WR in the country, torched top corners, plenty of film.

Yea can't really blame Chase. He saw our offense and how bad they were. now the O-line wouldn't get him hurt but if he saw Myles can't read a D, he could be looking at a for sure dip in numbers.

It was probably some combination of things that lead to the opt out.

I don't know the real reason, but I do know hurt feelings aren't enough lower his draft stock.

nah he won't take much of a dip. He has the NFL size and he has multiple game film of when he is paired with a NFL qb he is going to pistol whip whoever is in front of him. He straight abused a good NFL rookie in his final game.

He might slide a spot or two vs a guy that played but it won't be much. had TM6 kept playing he might make it even more interesting. I think TM6 will be hurt by his mid season opt out more than Chase for his pre-season one

Marshall had 7 TDs through 3 games with Myles as QB.

Yeah I’m sure it was the OL and has NOTHING to do with the pandemic and either risks involved with that or the extra bullshite from all the protocols.

Why do you think a player owes it to you to play for free because he still has eligibility left and can’t go pro?

He failed a drug test and it would've been exposed to the nfl if he would've taken the 3 game suspension and hurt his draft stock.

Him opting out prevented the failed test from ever getting out and him keeping a pretty good reputation to NFL scouts.

That's the story I heard from a few sources. Yea I know,"sauces."

He opted out because he wanted too and felt it was best for him. Simple as that

Um, I don’t know maybe a thing called a COVID dumpster fire season? New QB? New Offensive Coordinator?
&
His draft status was top ten?

if you think the NFL won’t find out about that but it won’t hurt his draft stock.

It is however a good reason to opt out of a cluster frick of a season

He quit on his team.
Call it what it is.

Chase is a Quitter.
He went through Spring with his teammates. He trained during the whole offseason with his teammates. He started fall camp with his teammates. Then he Quit on his teammates. Chase’s contribution to his team affect’s all of his teammates and it affects the outcome of the season. He let his team down. Period ! Call it what it is and quit making excuses for him.

Yeah, screw compliance for doing their job when players break the freakin law because potheads like you think it’s stupid. Simply put, the law is the law. If you all can’t stay off this stuff, then maybe the line of it’s not addictive is bs as most believe. There are plenty of laws I don’t agree with, but I respect them if they aren’t unreasonable. Weed being illegal is not unreasonable.

Some of you need to get off your soapboxes. Yes, it is illegal, but are they caught selling it? No. Should we judge them on something as harmless as weed? No. These kids get pumped full of pain pills and no one bats an eye, but let them decompress by smiling a plant, and you lose your minds.

I am not condoning it, but do you think what compliance is doing is working? Some are smoking some kinds of chemicals that are illegal by some technicality (aka, no one knows what the frick it is). If you want to solve the issue, support the kids and find alternative ways for them to blow off steam. Also, the shite is already decriminalized for the most part and will likely be legal soon. Not to mention that the very same organization (LSU) is actually growing and researching the shite for medical use.

The bottom line is this- We are at a competitive disadvantage of the whole SEC if compliance keeps eating its own.

Chase opted out for the exact reason that Bill Gates opted out. Both made wise decisions.

Because he could. Why did Gates opt out of Harvard?
