Because they view ND as elite and they didn’t think a southern school would EVER be able to do this. It’s awesome

I think most people in the media are just in a state of shock. The CFB world is changing so fast and the idea of Brian Kelly leaving mighty Notre Dame to coach LSU seemed pretty far out weeks ago. But the reality of the current landscape came crashing down on them this week.

This isn't Bret Bielema leaving Wisconsin to coach Arkansas. This is a perceived Notre Dame lifer leaving to coach LSU. I keep hearing talking heads ask what LSU can offer BK that Notre Dame can't. The answer is basically everything aside from the ghosts of great Notre Dame teams of the past.

Because nobody leaves Notre Dame for another school. Their golden child has been hurt.

Because everyone saying the same thing is boring tv. Creating "controversy" gets people talking about it whether they agree with the statements or disagree. Case in point, it prompted you to make this post.

Regardless of what anyone thinks, the score is going to be kept in the games and the results will be the results. Until that happens though we have 9 months of "dead air" to fill with discussion

They have all 11 over the last 100 years. First in 1924 lol. I think you means decade or last few decades.

Their latest was 1988. So it’s been 33 years since they have tasted glory. We are absolutely more relevant and a new age blue blood over ND.

LSU is 100 fold a better job and that’s with .500 seasons in back to back years and them being 11-1 this year. That says a lot

It says more that their coach left for us

What? Even in one of LSU's worst seasons in the last two decades, the LSU/Bama game was the most watched game on ESPN this year. And it was the most viewers to watch a game on ESPN since LSU/Florida in 2019.

The media wants and believes that certain markets are entitled to a status that not other programs are worthy of receiving

As far as they are concerned a bunch of down south swamp-billy caricatures just came in and disrespected them and upset the fragile order of things. The sports media does not think highly of us, they laugh at us as caricatures. This also explains the crap they spew about Kelly not being a good fit. They see him as an intelligent northern ball coach that could not possibly fit in with a bunch of inbred cajun hicks. We need a guy that is "one of us", a dumb loud mouth oaf like Orgeron. That is what they think of we deserve that is what they think of the south

This is also why you will mostly only hear praise for the riley hire, Despite Lincoln leaving the school he "loved" and absolutely poaching them of everything they have, as the LA market restored order

I've seen some, definitely not the majority, that really seems like they are trying not to be derogatory towards CBK, but really are leaning towards shame on us for stealing him.

It's a very odd lean.... "shame on you guys for going out and getting one of the better coaches".

The only reply from the fanbase and school that is possible is "Ha!".

Because BK's departure just put the final nail in the coffin of the sham that was Notre Dame.

They are scared to death that everything we say about ND and northern football will turn out to be true. If BK wins a championship they will melt.

I haven't watched ANY media coverage in weeks. But did he really say that? More talent than LSU? Bigger primetime games? When LSU is good again, they'll be showcased nearly every week. Because they play in the conference with the most showcase games.

As for as talent, LSU played Alabama better with a terrible coach and half team out, than Notre Dame has at their best. That's all you need to know about the talent difference.

Acho is an embarrassment to be a fellow alumni to Texas. Wish he would shut up. I don't know who is giving him these fake bits to rant about on national tv but they couldn't be more inaccurate.

SFY Acho and Wiley on OP topic

Maybe Acho is just jealous our alma mater can't get a hire like LSU just did.

They hate seeing the rich get richer.

They also see a perfect storm of resources, facilities and talent.
A great program manager here will blow minds and they know it!
USC should be the one who where’s the crown, but they’re not crazy enough to snatch it. We are!
And they don’t want podunk LSU to thrive.
