It ain't real until he delivers:

1) A decisive victory over Nick Saban

2) A SEC Championship

3) A National Championship

Not necessarily in that order.

Me!
My expectations were very low though.

That remains to be seen.

O has exceeded my expectations, but O is not an upgrade from les. Let’s at least get an SEC title before we try and compare Ed to a man who won one of our 3 national titles

He also made the NC with his own team, yeah he lost, to Saban the GOAT in a rematch after beating Saban at Alabama

The fact that we have to sit here and compare a 2 time national championship participant and national championship winning coach against a guy who’s never even challenged for the division tells you how insane these people are. That this even has to be explained to them tells you what you’re dealing with.

Well, if the 2007 was "nick the dick's" then I hope that you haven't given O credit for anything the last two seasons. Also if win a championship this year, make sure to give credit to Les and Les alone.

This.

Not even worth it.

I mean these are the folks that said "9 wins is like 11 wins with this schedule," which is pretty much "Fiesta Bowl over an undefeated team is like a National Championship." Makes sense.

Explain how he’s better than Les. I’ll wait.

He is about on par with Les, but he is younger and more enthusiastic about Louisiana, so most see him as a slight upgrade at this point.

Well, it was year three so it was his team.

However it was with two losses. That will never happen again. Just a weird perfect storm of a few teams blowing it the final weekend.

the 2011 season was better and should be his standard IMO.

He has certainly exceeded mine.

Nobody can "admit" that yet, if ever. Les won 11, 11, and 12 games in his first 3 years, including the West twice, the SEC once, and a national championship. O likely can't be an upgrade from Les in that era, so his target is an upgrade from Les at the end of his tenure.

Why do you post so many OP's with "no message?"

So you think comparing les last 5 to Os first 3 is a fair comparison. I haven't replied because I just had a wreck on I10 at essen. I'll be fine with les last five and Os first five. O doesn't have the body of work to compare yet

That's a couple miles from my house actually. Hope everything works out, my friend.

I'm ok. I was sitting in traffic at the essen exit and the lady never even hit her brakes. My wife's little car is messed up. The lady in front of me was pregnant so I'm worried about her

That said: SEC Champ and I’m in. 10 regular season wins + and a consensus top 10 recruiting class and I will start to believe. 9 regular season wins, a winning SEC record, and a top 10 recruiting class and I will chalk it up to a rough schedule and young team. 8 regular season wins and his seat is on fire, if he pulls in a top 15 class and is .500 or better in SEC play he still gets a shot at 2019, if not he should be gone. Less than 8 regular season wins and someone else needs to be coaching the 2019 spring game.

That was as of 5/9/2018, before Burrow signed with us. Still I held to that expectation even after adding him at QB. O came down with 9 regular season wins, which I would not rate as a success, but I will give him a pass.

Anything less than 10 regular season wins for the next two seasons and his hot seat should look like a bonfire.
