The debate should really be who is second best. The answer to your question is Pete Maravich and it isn't even close.
This. And it's not even close.

You are being sarcastic about Casanova being better than Cannon....right?
To have such tentative grip on reality and history can be dangerous and cause others to see you as foolish.

I'd have to say Doc Fenton....played at LSU for three years (1907 - 1909)...over those 3 years he scored 298 points...and that was when touchdowns were only worth 5 points each!....
looks like not much has changed since then either....

And how did he like relocating to Baton Rouge?
"It was a nice little town," said Doc, "but, to tell you the truth, the thing that sold me was the nickel beers.

best lsu career..pistol
if you're talking about college and professional accomplishments, this guy has to be mentioned. He didn't finish his career at LSU because of the war. he won multiple world series both as a player and manager.

Not sure what the criterion are but Mike Miley should be included.
Was a fantastic QB in '73 and left early for MLB with the Angels (not sure what round he was drafted in). Was killed not too long afterwards in a tragic accident.

As a natural athlete? Billy Cannon.
Paul Dietzel said that Cannon could have lost 20 pounds and been an olympic sprinter, or gained 20 pounds and been an olympic shot-putter.
As far as accomplishments in his or her particular sport?
Pete Maravich.

Pistol
Casanova should have won the Heisman, so putting Billy ahead of him on that basis is wrong.
