it's tough to compare athletes across different sports, but pistol pete. even without the 3 point line, many of his records have yet to be broken.

The debate should really be who is second best.

Casanova wasn't even the best football player. Pistol, Shaq, Cannon and perhaps CJ, Bert Jones, Ben McDonald and Kevin Faulk are all ahead of him.

I don't see how you get around giving this award to Maravich.
