Stop repeating false information. We are at 51 scholarship players. We have close to 40 non scholarship players on the roster.

It is not false information. The number that the NCAA goes by to determine if a team has enough players is based upon scholarship athletes not the total number of the roster. Now we can debate if this is right or wrong but don't say the poster is repeating false information because he isn't. What he is saying is a fact.

I think LSU is probably looking for a reason to not go. Nothing to be gained.

Nothing to lose either. Bring who we have and play some football. Have a little fun.

You say that until it happens and the offense is terrible and we lose to Kansas st and everyone bitching and whining about how we suck and blah blah blah because it will happen here. I think it's better to just skip it

Covideans hanging onto their hysteria

Hysteria? Did you lose a 55 y/o healthy family member from it? Or one that was 43 and a hard worker (scaffold builder)? The 55 y/o had it in 2020 then caught it agin in 2021. Unvaccinated. I’ve lost many of my friends and while they would have likely died from something else in the next 3-5 years, this took them out. It was a total of 15 friends and family. All unvaccinated (before vaccines).

Do I think healthy young people need a vaccine? Probably not. People over 50 or with preexistjng conditions? Yep.

It is, he said LSU is at 51 players, we are not. He did not mention scholarship players, simply players.

Show me the rule. I cannot find anything of the sort. The SEC has a scholarship limit that allows teams to cancel when the threshold is met. LSU is already below that number. It is also clearly stated in the sentence immediately following that the school can elect to play the game anyway.

Now we can debate if this is right or wrong but don't say the poster is repeating false information because he isn't. What he is saying is a fact.

We can debate whether he meant scholarship players or not. There is no argument that his statement is false on it's face.

Here is the SEC Rule link and relevant part of the rule quoted.

https://www.secsports.com/article/29914250/sec-announced-policy-canceled-rescheduled-games

quote:

To play a football game, the SEC has established minimum thresholds of at least 53 scholarship players available to participate and the following minimum number of position scholarship players available to begin a game: seven (7) offensive linemen (which includes one center), one (1) quarterback and four (4) defensive linemen. The impacted institution has the option to play the game with fewer than the 53 scholarship players or fewer than the minimum number of position players listed above if it elects to do so. Otherwise, upon approval by the Commissioner, the game would be rescheduled or declared a no contest.

If you have information that I am am not aware of, please share it with me. I am always trying to make sure I have good information.

This. We beat ranked Florida teams the past two years with about this many scholarship players available. We beat ranked A&M this year as well with around that number. Roll out the walk-ons and backups and go get a bowl win. Geaux Tigers!

Lina Hidalgo has no power to stop the game from happening.
—-wow, that’s not true. She can invoke emergency powers again, and shut down the county, just like she’s done before

No, if it’s in your control, you show up and play. Period.

Now, if the NCAA or other Covid hysteria forces the issue, then it is what it is, but you DO NOT OPT OUT.
