Jesse Myles (rest in peace - died at 49 in 2010) played for LSU from 1979-1982.
Had 1,118 rushing yards, 4.6 yards/rush and 12 TDs at LSU.
Also made the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent and played in 23 games in 1983-1984 with 200 yards from scrimmage and 1 receiving TD.
Saw him up close playing basketball in high school in 1979. Most athletic dude I had seen in person in my life at that point (I was about 12 then).

Add Mel Branch to that list. I met Mel in his Dad's Grocery store (Dallas Branch) when we were visiting my grandparents there in the late 1950s. (My Dad, Russell, graduated from DHS in the 1940s. Dad and I had a teacher, Jewel Shaw, in common--not sure of when she taught him, but she was my 1st grade teacher before we moved to Huntsville, AL.)

IIRC his senior year he won state wrestling title. He was a beast in high school and squat record at school was crazy. Nobody touched it when I was there.
