I’m talking strictly the ability to cover wide receivers and excluding other important factors like run support and kick/punt returns. There have been so many great ones, T. White, Morris Claiborne, Greedy Williams, Stingley, Patrick Peterson just to name a few. However I feel like no one locked their receiver down as consistently as Mo Claiborne. I realize he hasn’t had the success in the NFL as many expected, but that could be due any number of factors. However at LSU the dude was lockdown all day, may have given up the occasional underneath but never go beat over the top. What say you? LSU’s best pure cover corner?

Casanova (3 time 1st team All-American) Stingley will probably be better when all is said and done.

Since I’ve been watching I think I have got to say Claiborne. Now he didn’t have to have the battles with Julio that PP did, but I just don’t remember Claiborne ever getting beat unless it was Karnell Hatcher murdering him across the middle against Arkansas.

Peterson was so solid over three years and Mo was a blanket as well.. stingley could pass them all very soon

I think Stingley’s ball skills are already the best I have ever seen in a college corner... and that was as a true freshman.

Corey Webster was always in position to make the play.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a CB who is better at running downfield, getting his head around and theN High pointing a football than Stingley is.

It’s probably one of the hardest things to do, but you wouldn’t know that looking at him.

If you need proof, go watch a highlight video of Chase and watch Joe pump jump ball after jump ball in one on one coverage because the CB couldn’t get his head around.

If I recall correctly, TC held Tom Gatewood to 1 reception in the 28-8 ND game in TS.

Corey Webster was an absolute weapon at CB. His hands were better than most WRs. It wasn't a matter of if he was going to make a play but when.

Corey Webster was a beast. Tory James also had a nice career here.

Mo Claiborne was great.

Greedy, Peterson, and White were probably more talented than any of the above mentioned but teams stayed away from them alot.

Stingley will be right up there, if not the best of them.

Claiborne’s ball skills were absolutely ridiculous. He came to LSU as a WR so he had an advantage over most.

Stingley has the chance to be the best to ever do it in college football history.
