Pimpton is having a great camp supposedly

Well I didn’t see him do a thing last weekend. McGohan was running with the 2’s

Isn’t he 2nd string?

I think he’s been running with the 3’s.

I thought I had read that Pimpton was held out of the scrimmage part last weekend for a minor injury.

Bryce Langston. Coach O told us to watch out. He isn't even in the rotation.

Welch. He was highly recruited 4 star CB. A year ago I never imagined he would be behind a syracuse and Southeastern transfer

I know Kimo Makaneole has put in the work and he is practicing with the 2s but I'm really hoping he gets a shot.

I also thought Toviano was going to be one of the starting safeties but Sam has that locked down right now.

That's cuz Andre Sam is 137 years old

People picking true freshmen are so football ignorant. This isn't high school ball talent, size, or scheme wise. Yet you expect true freshmen to step in and take over?

My answer is Welch because he's got a year in the system at a position of no depth. Sage Ryan is out there taking first team reps at CB opposite a transfer from SELA and Welch is 3rd string right now behind Chestnut and Stamps.

The guy has been a nightmare for LSUs DBs since he stepped on the practice field.

Not to get off topic (my answer is Welch) but aren’t FSU top 2 or 3 receivers all 6’4+ athletes?

Case in point. Toviano is more talented, but experience plays at this level.

Talent will get some of these guys on the field, but starting? Very rare and usually accompanied by a lack of bodies at a position...like Campbell and Jones last year.

It took Fournette a few games to get going as a starter too. It's more than just talent

not that surprising. He was recruited based off his physical traits and potential to develop, not his raw skill. Hopefully he’s developed enough to get some decent playing time.

Yep.

Wiggins's physical traits are what every football coach dreams of. But he's not a good "football player" yet. There is a difference. He's a tremendous athlete who the coaches hope to mold into a great football player.

For me, I guess the answers are Welch and Langston. Yes, Welch is just a soph., but there was no greater position of need than CB. The fact that you brought in 4 transfers and now have a safety (Ryan) playing CB seems to suggest Welch isn't there yet.

Langston was a guy who, at the time, seemed like a big coup for LSU to get away from Florida, and Orgeron spoke glowingly of him. Two years in, at a position where LSU has needed depth, most forget he's own the team.

Will Campbell, Emory Jones, Mason Taylor and Harold Perkins may disagree.

Would love to see Hilton as the primary kickoff returner. Speed to burn! I get tired of seeing the slower RBs returning kicks. I know the coaches have their reasons but man if he could earn that spot and be dependable he could be a difference maker.

The easy answer is Welch. I would’ve bet a lot of money that’d he be a starter this year. Looking like I’m wrong.

They indeed are. Leon Coleman is on the smaller side for their wideouts and 6’4

2 of our best players last year were Harold Perkins & Mason Taylor

Might as well throw in Will Campbell & Emery Jones too
