OL faneca or whitworth
TE Royal I guess
DL Lavalais
LB B James
CB Peterson
NB Matthieu
S Laron (barely over Adams, likely will change to Delpit after next year)

Yes, TM was great in the role that Chavis had him in but he wasn't that great of a cb and was a liability in championship game because he lined up at CB, should have played Tharold Simon instead. That being said, TM was one of the best I've seen at taking great angles to the qb and not missing when he got there, the dude had phenomenal football instincts.

Ha... I was born in '75 and may have been remembering incorrectly. I remember my dad bitching and that we had some 3 and 4 win seasons. Probably just remember the bad times since I was so young.

Claiborne and Peterson are the best corners. TM7 was more of a hybrid corner/safety/linebacker.

David LaFleur was better.
I was giving him players from his era. I would hope he didn't know who LaFleur was and still chose Dickson.

All this Fournette, Fournette. GOAT is Kevin Faulk and it's not even close.

This must be nice. Didn't have to sit through the horror of the 80s and 90s. There were some good moments sprinkled in there.

Our 80s teams were damned good. The wheels came off from 89-94. Hell in 90-91. We couldn't GIVE our passes away after selling programs before games(the passes got you in to any section in TS except the Stadium Club Seats.)

Yep. I was remembering wrong. I have that issue from time to time. Memory is shite and gets spotty.

If Dalton would of had 4.4 speed he'd be the best by far. Still think Dalton had the better vision of any RB I've seen at LSU. Harvey Williams lacked elite vison but had quickness and speed and power, but not elite like Fournette. Cecil was pretty good until his mental issues got in the way. Faulk was a good one. But, Fournette was the only one in the Herschel Walker Bo Jackson mold. Hard to argue with that.

All partied out, brother. Some memories are vivid as yesterday while others I can't remember at all.

I really like your list. There is only one that I would change off of this list. C Jones was a great athlete at S, but I’d put J Adams or G Delpit (yes, we are all witnessing greatness with him) over Jones.

I wasn’t around in the days of Tommy Casanova, but my dad was a teammate and pre-med classmate of his. Casanova is legendary, & he still makes many NCAA “all-time lists.”

Good list though bud!

By position in your lifetime

Based on how good they were while at LSU

Well, it’s nearly impossible (at least, for me) to choose only ONE per position.

But if I was assembling a team, these guys would be my starters (I can remember as far back as Paul Dietzel):

OFFENSE

QB -- Rohan Davey

WR -- Josh Reed, Andy Hamilton
RB -- Leonard Fournette
FB -- Earl Gros
OT -- Andrew Whitworth, La’el Collins
OG -- Eric Andolsek, Alan Faneca
C ---- Nacho Albergamo .. (HM: Todd McClure)
TE --- David LaFleur ....... (HM: Brian Kinchen)

DEFENSE

DE --- Marquise Hill, Gabe Northern
DT --- Ron Estay, Leonard Marshall

LB -- Michael Brooks, George Bevan, Devin White .... (HM: Warren Capone)

-- >> Devin White is the best LSU LB in the last thirty years.
-- >> Michael Brooks was the best LSU LB, ever.

S ---- Steve Rehage, Greg Jackson
CB -- Patrick Peterson, Tommy Casanova

P ----- Chad Kessler ........... (HM: Brad Wing )
PK --- David Browndyke .... (HM: Cole Tracy)

I suppose that arguments are to be expected :sigh: . . .

This is fun to read, lots of you here lack a long term perspective. One no one has mentioned is DL-Henry Thomas. Yes I say Dorsey and loved him, Henry Thomas played nose tackle, was double teamed on every play and still dominated. That defensive line was really tough!

Can’t really fault the youngsters -- they don’t know that they don’t know.

Yes !!! I was going to list him . . .

NT --- Henry Thomas

And I just flat forgot.

(Getting old may be a PITA, but it's better than NOT getting old).
