QB Rohan
RB Fournette (barely over faulk and hilliard)
WR Josh fkn Reed (barely though over E Martin, landry, beckham)
OL faneca or whitworth
TE Royal I guess
DL Lavalais
LB B James
CB Peterson
NB Matthieu
S Laron (barely over Adams, likely will change to Delpit after next year)
I think you NAILED it. Especially with Ro & Lavalais. I would put Adams over Laron, but by the slightest of difference, as you said, and 100% agree expect Delpit to be there after next season.

Looking at the lists, you can tell that most have not been following LSU much prior to 2000. None mentioned Leonard Marshall, AJ Duhe or Tommy Bordelon. Each one of those would have been an All- American in any generation. Also conspicuously absent were All Americans Tommy Cassanova, Billy Cannan and Jerry Stovall

I agree, Lafleur was All American and considered the best TE in the nation his senior year.

All this Fournette, Fournette. GOAT is Kevin Faulk and it's not even close.
Kevin Faulk is correct... He still holds the SEC record for total yards rushing in his career...
Also in the discussion, Dalton Hilliard, Charles Alexander and yes Guice...
I don't even think its a slam dunk that Fournette is 2nd on that list...

Didn’t beat out Randle and lost every critical game he played in.
Well that's just not true and just downright dumb to say.
He beat number 3 Alabama as a sophomore in overtime at Tuscaloosa.
Led a 4th quarter comeback against ASU and beat Florida and Auburn in 2005 which were high ranked opponents.
Yeah he lost to Tennessee in 2005 and Florida and Auburn in 2006, but he was one of the best QBs to wear the purple and Gold.
To say he lost every critical game he played in is just ignorant and make you look like the biggest dumbass on this site.

Agreed. Fournette is probably the best athlete at the position LSU has ever had, but as far as the overall best taking in the accomplishments and big picture, Kevin Faulk is the best all around RB we’ve had.
Now, if we would have had a more competent HC and OC to utilize LF7 to his potential, then he would have overtaken Faulk, IMO.

QB Russell. I honestly don't see how this is close unless you're old enough for Bert Jones.
Hodson Over both....

RB Alexander. He was awesome.
Yes he was...... I am still A Hilliard fan though............
quote:
WR Wendell Davis. He won SEC Player of the Year. As a receiver.
The only one close is Josh Reed....

Casanova is a no brainer for me as is PP7. Both dominated the college game at their position during their era.
Certainly not enough love for Eric Andolsek who was a monster, but unfortunately suffered a tragic fate.
One other inclusion who goes overlooked is linebacker Eric Hill who wreaked havoc during his career and was consistently excellent.
These lists always give away our years!!!

You do realize Tyrann was a safety right? He wasn’t a CB.
