Shouldn't even be a question - it's Mettenberger. Mett has much more upside than Lee - might as well see what he can do now. We can always come back to Lee if Mett falters.

Well, per Dwayne Kilpatrick commenting on sportsnola.com:

"Nobody that claims to be an LSU Tiger Fan and actually means it has been wanting to see Jarrett Lee come anywhere near the field let alone take a snap. Mettenberger is the best bet if there is no Jefferson, and possibly the best bet even if Jefferson is available. Only time will tell. (Hopefully it tells Jarrett Lee to stay his pick 6 throwing arse the hell off the field)"

I guess he is saying that I'm not a true fan...

Lee has to start, if he doesn't play well then you can bring in Mett.

Mett. Lee has had more than a shot to prove himself. I can see the pick sixes coming again if Lee starts. He constantly throws off his back leg. I'll take my chances with the other guy.

Lee hung in for four years even though there seemed to be little chance of him starting, apparently there is a higher justice than Miles, Lee is ready.

Whoever thinks Lee will have a repeat season from his RS FRESHMAN year, compared to his senior year, is completely dumb. Compare Matthew Stafford's first year playing in the SEC to Lee's first year. Not saying he is Stafford, but he has certainly improved from when fans were cheering for him to get hurt.

Mett all the way. He is our future, plus Lee panics when pressured and throws it up for grabs. He can look great in practice all he wants but when the bullets fly he loses his composure. However, I do really admire Lee and would not be totally opposed to him starting the season number one. No doubt he has paid his dues. Miles obviously would start Lee.

I thought he looked good last year, but apparently I'm in the minority and obviously cant see what miles sees every day in practice ...

Lee should start. Best should finish is Lee has struggles.

This is assuming JJ is suspended.

Can't flush from my memory how he panicked and threw that moon ball, straight up in the air (Tennessee game I think it was). I know, I know, he did some great things as well last yr. Saved our arse a few times

Definitely Lee....The guy has been a class act off the field, and he has earned another chance.....Obviously, this is his last chance and I hope he takes advantage of it....

Good luck, Jarrett!

That wasn't a panic throw in the Tennessee game. It could easily have been a bad route by Ridley. Some people also forget the 4th and long conversion he threw to Tolliver with 2 min left in the game.
