For your personal taste I get it. To kids, recruits, someone choosing to come to LSU it doesn’t matter.

They'll be wearing the uniforms in front of 25k fans for a absolute trash of a bowl game. Then again, if it ain't the playoffs , all tbe bowls are crap.

How is that any less of an alternative uniform? Yes, LSU had to wear it for a time when the NCAA dictated dark uniforms at home, but historically it’s been nothing more than a once or twice a year alt. This sounds like the arguments you get all the time in churches when one generation’s cultural preferences are somehow misconstrued as longstanding tradition when a new generation arises with different cultural preferences.

No, I’m not stupid. The only “traditional” uniforms are G-W-G. That is the brand. Any other combination is an alt.

At this point, GPG is more of an alternate than WPW. I would love to see the numbers, but I’d bet money that we’ve worn WPW more than GPG since 2019 (even if you exclude this year).

Kind of funny actually, if you look at the Wikipedia entry for our 2019 season it shows this in the main table with the team details:

It’s pretty clear to me that the WPW has become our default “dark” uniform combo over the past ~5 years. And I’m fine with that. I think we should have worn our traditional GWG combo more this year. But in a situation where we are being required to wear purple jerseys, I have zero problem with LSU picking WPW.

We really should stick with WPW as our standard color uniform. It looks really good an the team generally plays well wearing it-- the latter can't be said with any level of confidence with the GPG

Let’s look at the top 15 all time FBS programs by wins and tell me how many of them wear alternate jerseys as much as LSU does:

ND, Tennessee, Clemson and WVU all wear alternates multiple times per year. They also all have separate home and road jerseys, which we technically don’t have since we wear white at home.

UT has worn alternates a good bit. UGA has also been known to role them out.

WVU also has a good bit of special uniforms and combinations.

Take it out of the players hands; simple.

Give them bullshite cupcake non conference games nobody else watches. keep all conference games, premier OOC games, kickoff classics, playoff, bowl games, etc. should be left to the administration and if the admin can't get it right, accept the backlash and stop shuffling it down the river and putting the burden of the decision on the kids.

Run your program like any successful business or household.

purple is our standard non-white jersey, not an alternate.
we've worn a whopping ONE alternate jersey (the gold for Vanderbilt) over the last several years.

So risk the helmets blending in with each other and if Nuss throws a INT then what? This shows something so basic and simple people will complain. Do you really think it’s not beneficial for a qb to for the team to have different color helmets? It’s really not that deep, it still have LSU across it.

I can’t say the break from tradition really concerns me as much as I just don’t care much for the white, purple, white or the all white alternates. Too much white in the jersey just doesn’t feel like LSU.

Texas AM hangs on to their cringe traditions like a bag of money,
but we let our traditional brands go for unis that kids like.

Both programs are reciprocally wrong for doing this.
