Is there any chance this amazing spread offense we heard about will be unveiled this week?

LSU is not a full spread team. When Canada was fired Eaux said they would be more of a spread team, but emphatically stated that they would still be a run first football team. That's exactly waht you're seeing this year.
Furthermore, most of these guys were recruited to run a Pro style, Power I offense. Transitioning to a full spread offense will require shiftier WRs, lighter OLman (especially at the tackles), and a QB with a quick release. Unfortunately, replacing Tackles with Guards is not ideal and we saw that in the Floarida game; however, LSU is doing pretty damn well with juggling their OL and having success.

Most of these guys probably ran a spread offense their entire football career before getting here.
It’s not like spread offenses are natorioauly difficult for people to learn.
We already run a ton of zone blocking and have since Grimes was first hired.

Same place it was when it was promised to LSU fans by Les

I think if the OL was not a patchwork the offense would be good. Recruiting is another topic altogether, but I think that’s the issue more so than scheme.

They could have ran a spread offense in HS and that would be something to look up. But, in theory, its not easy for these RS Sopomores, Juniors, and Seniors who are on their 3rd OC in 3 years. I can guarantee that it's having a major effect...Especially in their off season training.

I totally agree! This OL is impressing me this year outside of a few snaps in Florida. If they can stay healthy enough until Brumfield gets back I think we would be in good shape for MSST and Bama.

We made that call regardless.
We might as well move to an offense that’s easier to learn.

We saw a bit of it in the Ole Miss game. Not so much a zone read type options but a little more spreading the field with some WR screens. There was also a taste of this against Auburn. Just enough sprinkled in to get some decent yards.
I was expecting a little more in the UF game. Especially the struggles that OL was having. Help them out with the play calling and help the defense too by hanging on to the ball for a few first downs at least.

Maybe he meant a new offense that would be installed spread out over the season game to game.

We were also told that the strength of the offense would be the WR and that we would be pass first.
In summary, the coaches really have no clue.

It’s the spread your cheeks offense because the defense is going in dry

Oh lord here guys go with this shite again
Posted on 10/8/18 at 5:52 pm to tigersquad89
you can't run a spread offense if your 5 linemen can't block and your WRs can't catch.

The spread is merely 3 or more WRs to spread out the defense. It seems few on this board understand that.
