Wasn’t Jalen’s night and Hannibal had a great game subbing in.

Miwani got in briefly. Not sure about Collins? Still injured or just not playing well enough to get in rotation. When Baker plays ok McMahon has three other big men to shuffle in besides Collins - Fountain, Reed, and Dean.

Mwani has been playing so much worse this year. I expected so much more from him this year. He still plays good defense, but his offensive stats have become atrocious. He was never a big time scorer, but was very efficient. He’s now a total liability offensively.

Baker rebounded much better than I’ve ever seen him rebound. I saw him fighting and finding them even if they weren’t right next to him. It reminded me of Dean. He still needs to work on his passing and reduce turnovers. I think better passing might cut down on his turnovers, since many come when he gets double teamed. He also needs work on his outside shots, because he’s missing too many 3 pointers. Maybe he should take a couple of steps in to make mid range shots instead at a higher clip. Overall he had a decent game, and that’s what we need consistently. Would’ve been good without the turnovers.
They did a nice job clearing space for him in the middle to operate. Or at least Auburn allowed it. He has trouble when the space is condensed and other players can dig down or double.

Baker has 2 big problems:
1) He turns his back to the ball. Either on defense he turns to focus on his guy so he can't offer help defense, or on offense he turns away from his own player (usually to post up) and can't receive a pass or help out.
2) He holds a post position with a wide stance way too long, even when the perimeter player is trying to drive. It just clogs the lane like an extra defender. Jalen Reed seems to be his regular victim.

If Hannibal could maintain control consistently like last night, he would be the starter over Cook. He is fun to watch, but has always been too out of control. I would be shocked if he were to start delivering that type of performance consistently, but if he does, and Cook plays better, we will be a force that no one expected.
I don't think he is better than Cook, but when Trae can hit a jumper and free throws he becomes a real weapon.

Cmon man. Auburns program has been stable for awhile now. We are building from nothing. Tough matchup far any team in the SEC to challenge Auburn in their house.

The problem yesterday and since he’s been here is McMahon does nothing to stop runs by the opponent. He never uses timeouts, always waits for TV timeouts and never switches up the D until it’s way too late. We also don’t run anything on offense outside of quick sets which are easy to figure out for good coaches. The roster is much improved but we’re seeing no growth from McMahon with in game management.

This, Nichols showed in the second game of the year how to defend Baker. He can actually do some damage if single covered, but some teams/coaches won't let their egos admit that.

But if you double him he's totally neutered.
