Yeah why do they call them zebras?

Back in the old days they were hunted by lions roaming the sidelines

For many decades umpires wore light blue dress shirts.
I umpired for 6 years in the 90s and early 2000s. My first two years we wore the blue dress shirts. Starting in third season we switched to the dri fit polos, and we started wearing them in black, light blue, navy, and red.

1, navy is a shade of blue. 2, they still wear the lighter blue that gave them the moniker on occasion.

As in NAVY BLUE. Now, you've gotten the attention you craved with this stupid post so go on back to mommies basement and lay on the quilt that smells like her breast milk.

I umpire for the LHSOA. We have blue and black sets.
It probably would not be good to scream "come on black"

Why do fans say "You're missing a good game Blue" when clearly the Ump is at the game?

“Go get a real job black” is going to go over great

What does this have to do with LSU specifically?

Because come on yellow doesn't roll off the tongue.
