Another potential name is Brian Daboll, although I have no idea if he has any intentions of coming back to college. He very well may be fired by the Giants this year.

Kyle Williams will be a head coach at some point.

So the question is what do LSU fans want? The "proven" HC who is going to command a big contract? One that would likely be almost as onerous as Kelly's contract that the fans hate now?

Or do you want a less proven guy who will take a lower contract

It doesn't matter what the fans want. If Woodward is still making the call, it's going to be the proven guy on some absurd contract.

The guy who taught LSU fans that offensive and defensive players can have the same number when we realized that it wasn’t Ryan Perriloux out there on defense.

He’ll just leave when the pressure gets a little high. Mentally weak.

Said it in the other thread. 3 current head coaches that we should look hard at are:

1) Brent Key at GT
2) Kiffin at OM
3) Drink at Mizzou

All 3 have their teams over-performing consistently (aside from OM doing last year what we are doing this year).

WE DON"T HAVE $60 million!

His buyout is 90% of his remaining salary paid on the same schedule he is paid now (monthly) through the remainder of the contract period. Right now, that is $52,380,000 through 2031.

You think LSU doesn't have the money to pay just under 730k per month?

A lot of the up and coming coaches are currently coaching their alma mater.

Kelvin Sheppard is looking pretty good so far. If Austin Thomas locks down GM duties and allows the HC go just focus on coaching it might be worth an interview

YES or KIFFIN

This mindset is how you end up with Brian Kelly or Bill Bellichick. Go back and read the OP: the top coaches are Lanning, Day, and Smart. All were "up and coming" coordinators with no HC experience. Stop overpaying for skins on the wall and find the next big thing. It's not easy but thats what Woodward gets paid to do

LSU had the best offenses with coach O and with BK, what do you think they are missing? Those 2 QBs

Well it's not a direct coaching question, but you do need to address the scheme on offense. It's nice to have a Heisman winning/top 2 pick at qb running your offense, but it's not realistic to expect one every season.

LSU historically can get running backs, but not qbs. Maybe plan your offense to run, and have a subset for different qbs. That way you should be more prepared going into the season

Please stop with this bullshite. Kelvin Sheppard is not going to be hired as the head coach at LSU, and if he is there should be a legitimate revolt.

This is nothing against Kelvin, but he is a 1st year coordinator in the NFL and has NEVER coached in college. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY on this board would even know who he is if he didn't play for LSU.

Yes I do not think LSU has the money to pay 3/4 of a million dollars each month.
