I think it's more he never has his team ready for the start of the year or for the start of a game for that matter. It always seems to take 2 quarters for them to get in a groove.

Based on what?

This is the dumbest phrase uttered on this forum. Everyone thinks every game is someone's "Super Bowl".

He'll get another HC from somebody betting on his Oklahoma years over his YSC years. Or he'll go be an NFL OC and try to get back on track for an NFL HC gig

I know Sloan is still around, but he is not a good playcaller at all.
Sloan may be a head coach next year (ECU?), so that may be a moot point.

Guy can't run a program. But he can run an offense.
I won't argue with you on that, but he's been a head coach at two different schools and probably thinks that's where he belongs.

Even if we needed an OC, and he was available, how long before he bolts for another HC position somewhere else? Someone will be willing to give him a chance, and I'd rather not have Bryce Underwood and Co. have to deal with a possible OC change a blind man could see coming, given the potential he brings to the program at that position.

He will not come to an SEC team, especially one in Baton Rouge.

I see him going the Kiffin route. Go take over at UAB, give them some hope again, then turn around Wisconsin or something.

They owe him so much god damn buyout money that he can walk into the AD's office and tell him to go frick himself, and he still wouldn't be fired.

Yeah he doesn’t seem like the kind of guy that will get that coaching itch again. In fact he probably hates coaching.

He could run Oklahoma. Should have not left. May end up returning. He won't be an OC

Why? He had two All American QBs at Oklahoma and one great one at Southern Cal. How many Championships has he won? Even Tulane beat his arse. Orgeron embarrassed him.

Who else you want? Maybe we can get Frank Beamer to be special teams coach. Then we can get Saban to come be our DC.

He would be great on TV. he’s a guy who is a total football nerd who can break down games from years ago just on memory alone.

Not built for the political figurehead role that being a HC at a program like USC entails. He’d be great at a middle tier P4 school the way Leach was.

If Lane leaves ole miss he’d be a good fit there. A place that is just happy to be relevant but won’t fire you for not winning a natty.

There is no way for a fan to actually judge a coach's playcalling abilities.

Would be an odd couple if Joe Brady got the HC job and hired him. Every time Joe wanted to overrule Riley he'd be like "Hey Lincoln. Remember 2019?"

yes and no,

I do think Sloan gets a lot of shite from people who can’t tell any running play between the tackles apart.
