What's up with Sampah and Webb?

Both were highly rated but, as far as I can tell, have barely played and neither has recorded any stats. With our struggles at LB, I'd imagine they're not progressing like the coaches thought otherwise they'd be getting some playing time.

Just curious and haven't seen them discussed on here.

I feel like every LB in that class hasn’t sniffed the field.

Right?? One would think that the coaches are putting the best on the field.. so...

I'd hate to think that both those guys were busts but maybe they'll start rounding into form. Still got time. Just figured we would've seen them more by now.. at least Webb

There are 17 LB's on the roster. Apparently, most of them are not very good.

Well, pretty much nothing is up with them. They don't play.

Seems crazy to have that much depth and awful results

We don’t play our best RB so maybe they do the same with LB.

I started to get the feeling that Sampah was =n't as good as his rating suggested towards the end of his recruitment. I dont remeber any specifics but there were signs.

Webb on the other hand was meant to be a stand up rush LBer and now is being asked to either play a traditional LBer or put his hand in the dirt. He appears to not be catching on to either.

Both are victims of Orgeron forcing his 4-3 on this roster despite not having the personnel for it

Thats the sign of a really good coach

There's Josh White too. I expected to see him start getting some snaps

We’re we, or we’re we not, a 3-4 defense for the previous 4 years until 2020 when all of a sudden every player in the front 7 had to suddenly learn the 4-3?

Disagree. We have plenty of quality players at DT--not much depth at DE. If we were to play a 3-4, we would have several quality DTs riding the bench instead of on the field. DE recruitment is not where it needs to be.

17? And the position is fighting the safety group for worse on the team behind the OL.

With the injury to Anthony I’m sure we will see a new name or two show up at DE. A Webb or savion Jones. Not sure where Landon Jackson is at health wise

I saw White with a cast on his arm last week so he’s been injured. I think we may see more of him once he heals up.

Considering we’re not even running a base 4-3, your point is moot. We’re running a 4-2-5.

Even if we were running a 4-3, how else would you propose to switch defenses? That’s what the head coach wanted. Our issues on defense are not because we went to 4 down linemen instead of 3.

Well, LSU is 1st defensively in TFLs and sacks in all of FBS football right now. They weren't in the 3-4. So there's a give and take to this transition.

I think those guys were meant to play for a Dave Aranda defense. Orgeron on the other hand probably have no clue on how to use them.
