Don’t forget Texass—loved by the media desperate to make them relevant after 15 years of mediocrity.

so simple. switch our schedules and we are way more likely ranked and they don't have a chance at being ranked in the preseason.

Preseason rankings are so much more about people trying to predict the outcome of the season rather than a power ranking of teams.

In the eyes of the sports media and sports fans in general LSU in John Daly to USC as Tiger Woods. Why do you think they lost their sh*t when Kelly left Noter for LSU?

If you were old like me you would remember a time in 70s and 80s when we were almost irrelevant in football, and it wasn’t because we weren’t any good. The media and media hype picked the National Champions, and teams rarely played out of conference games until bowl games and they were typically treated as fun games that didn’t count for shite. Hell they used to declare the Natty before the bowl games. You couldn’t even get SEC games on TV, I remember LSU playing bama, etc wasn’t even on TV and they would have Minnesota vs Purdue or some shite instead.

This is nothing new in a bizarre twist biting them in the arse now with time differences. USC will lose 3 games minimal

I agree. Yes they have a high flying offensive coach with some solid transfers and QB that knows his offense. They still shouldn't be ranked that high.
Yes they have a weak conference but that shouldn't impact their polling at all.

Fun fact, John Daly attended 9th and 10th grade at Zachary High School in EBR Parish.

USC and UCLA (despite the market) are shadows in contrast to the Rams and Chargers. There's also two MBL teams (including the Angels), two NBA teams, two NHL teams, two MSL teams (yes, they sell out soccer there), every major band that tours has a concert in the area, all of the movies, tons of live theaters, many symphony orchestras, amusement parks, etc. to attract money from the masses.

LSU's played 7 top 25 opponents in their last 8 games last year and was respectable in all of those games.

Blasphemy

Coach O was the worst coach in LSU football history, he completely destroyed the program, and 2020-2021 were the 2 worst years in LSU football history right ahead of the 90's

Media darlings for sure but they have made some nice moves. They got a really good QB with several very good transfers. They play in a shite conference and got a good coach. Plus they're a big market media darling team. Easy to see why they're getting love. On paper they SHOULD have a great season and possibly play in the playoffs considering how creampuff their schedule is.
