Believe me, it is more than a 3-hour drive from ATL to Obnoxiousville. You have to go from one end of Metro Atlanta to the other.

Getting a rental car these days is a pain in the arse and will cost you $$$.

their stadium is tiny (4K)."

#1 fly into Knoxville
#2 fly into Chattanooga and drive the 112 mi to Knoxville

There is no best way. No right or wrong way either. Just get there whichever way makes you feel the happiest, safest and most comfortable

The fly into Nashville - drove to Knoxville route as mentioned is another 2-2.5 hours. And the couple times I’ve driven between the two- sure seemed like lot of traffic. If possible I’d try to get directly into Knoxville
Driving from Atlanta seems like an option - but someone mentioned earlier- you have to go from one end of atl metro to the other? Willing to bet that adds couple hours to whatever the trip time is. Straight drive - it’s a hail - no two ways about it.

It’s an easy drive up I-59

I drove from Birmingham to that area (was actually the TN/NC border). I would have needed to stop a while from New Orleans.

It's a 79 hour bicycle ride from Houston, going down a few back roads.

Your biggest problem will be Tickets! Small stadium and crappy parking. I went a couple of years ago when LSU played Notre Dame so we went to those games then two days later to the Tennessee games.

You get to see the worst parts of Mississippi and Alabama. It’s a wonderful drive
As an over 30 year resident of Mississippi (recently moved to Iowa), I can assure you that the region of Mississippi along the I-59 corridor is far from the worst part......??

Go to Knoxville take a left and take highway to Omaha

If you have to ask, it's probably Spirit Airlines. You'd probably be safer hitchhiking at that point though

yeah, just get a few baws together and that drive can be fun

The drive isn't too bad, but it'll be the better chunk of a day to get here and day back.
Knoxville has a nice airport about 20 minutes from downtown/UT. You'll have to connect somewhere, but that's no biggie.
I would try to fly direct to Knoxville as opposed to Atlanta or Nashville, but with Nashville (as opposed to Atlanta) the airport is at least already on the right side of town to go straight to Knoxville and avoid traffic.
Anywhere downtown, in the Fort Sanders area, or possibly South Knox is going to be a long but doable walk to campus for the game. Anywhere outside of that you'll want to drive or uber.

It's a 53 hour bicycle ride from Baton Rouge. Anyone want to split a tandem bike?
