In your opinion what is that? Would 9-3 cut it since it’s a tough schedule or should lsu be 10-2 or better since it’s year theee under Kelly

With next year’s schedule and a new starting QB after the worst defense in program history? Yea, I think 9-3 would be massive.

BK gets a pass for having that defense? No we don't lower the expectations because he screwed the pooch with the defense this year.

If retard swamp monster can win a championship in year 3, BK sure as shite better make it to a 12 team playoff in year 3.

The schedule couldn’t be any easier next season.

I would be very surprised if this team next season loses more than 2 games.

Not making the playoff would be a failure imo. I don't think we'll win a national championship, but making the playoff should be the expectation.

Yeah UCLA and USC are tougher OOC games but with no Caleb Williams and UCLA being in Tiger Stadium we should beat both.

Bama and A&M will be the toughest games. We get OU and Ole Miss in Tiger Stadium. I can see a path to 10-2.

No one can honestly reach that conclusion without first knowing all of the variables in play.

What will the final roster look like?
Who is on the coaching staff?
What do the rosters look like for the competition?

Those are all largely still unknown. So just arbitrarily assigning a number simply because it is year 3 without knowing all of the current "unknows" is asinine

NY6 is never a failure. We do that, job well done. Obviously the ultimate goal is to destroy everyone and God willing we shall.

Saban:
8-4
10-3
8-5
13-1 (NC)

Miles:
11-2
11-2
12-2 (NC)

Orgeron:
9-4
10-3
15-0 (NC)

Kelly:
10-4
10-3 or 9-4

Saban took over a 3-8 Dinardo team.
Les took over an established winner.
Orgeron took over a team that was floundering offensively.
Kelly took over a team with a depleted roster and toxic culture.

If Kelly can effectively address the defensive issues then 10-2 should be the expectation with hopes of 11-1.

False. BK is expected to win championships here. All of those variables are things he is supposed to figure out to achieve the goal of winning championships. The expectation of winning does not go away if he does a poor job addressing any of those things. The man himself said we were a year away. There are no excuses for next year for missing the expanded playoff.

Beef up the defense, then we are 10-2 and in the playoffs.

Bad comparison; Retard Swamp Monster took over a vastly different program than BK.

Offense will be good, but not great. Defense does not look to improve. So Kelly's claim of being one year away from competing for a NC seems to be far from likely. 8 wins would be the ceiling I think unless they do better at recruiting, preparation and the portal.

BK himself said we were a year away. Are you calling him a liar?

Should be 10-2, but I wouldn’t be mad at 9-3 if it still gets us in the SEC CG.

Playoffs or bust next year.
Probably even final 4.
He’s had time.
By year 3 he’s built former teams from doom to natty and this is LSU. Far superior talent.

8-4 would be this team being about as good as they were this year. 9-3, to me, would mean they improved, and anything better than that would genuinely exceed my expectations, so I'd be thrilled with 10+ wins.

That's not how it works. If BK goes and hires a shitty defensive staff and doesn't get anybody from the portal, you can't change the goals for the season.

To add on to this..

Kirby Smart had UGA in the national championship in Y2 but didn't win it all until Y6.

2024 doesn't feel like a national championship season with all of the uncertainties. Losing a Heisman candidate, losing Malik and BT and having such a shitty defense with and adding a new DC.

2025 we'll lose our dominant OL and QB will be most likely be a first year starter assuming Nuss shows enough to go to the NFL.

It feels like 2026 will be the first year we should actually be in a position to compete for a natty.
