Based on the possibility of sanctions that are probably going to happen anyway in an era where you can now pay players. All you did was admit guilt and expose yourself to a toothless organization.

It wad stupid.

I was upset at first. But there is nothing we can do about it now. Also it is possible that we saved ourselves some sanctions by letting Wade go. Also the fact that we brought in what seems to be a good coach does help ease the pain.

Get out of paying a coach you wanted to fire because he is a dumb arse who didn't even try to hide what he was doing. Everyone cheats, but you have to at the least make it look like you are trying to keep it a secret.

Blow it up by firing Wade or take our chances and keep him..

They didn't want to keep Wade and now back to the basement we go.

They wanted Wade out. They got him out on the cheap. I think it’s obvious.

It was an incomprehensible move to me. If you’re expecting sanctions and “HAD” to fire WW immediately, then why not self impose sanctions immediately? You already fricked over the team, what’s the point of kicking the can down the road?

Now, not only did we have no real chance at a run with distraught players and an interim coach, the writing is on the wall that we won’t be postseason eligible next year. So if you’re a player on this team, your own AD has fricked you out of not 1 but 2 postseasons, without the NCAA dropping 1 sanction yet. Who would stay and endure that bullshite?

Woodward = Mulkey, Kelly, and McMahon. I will take it. Coach Wade brought this upon himself , and honestly he does not have much technical knowledge of the game.

The blue bloods would never let it go, eventually they would have had their way. It went on far too long as it was. I will always respect the General but it was a lost cause.

Tate absolutely hates Wade, so it was going to happen regardless

So when you dont fire your coach and the NCAA validates their "loss of institutional control" narritive you get sanctions in every sport. And when they slap a "show cause" order on Wade you dont have a coach anyway...

That's the understatement of the century.

You were starting threads every 5 seconds.

You are clueless. Wade is getting at least a 5 year ban/show cause.

Do it now and hopefully limit sanctions. Wait until the sanctions come, Wade gets show cause is out anyway and gives NCAA more LOIC fodder.

Didn't the terms of Wade's revised contract all but require us to fire him once the NCAA formally noticed allegations? Even without that, we didn't have much choice under the circumstances. And probably long overdue, for reasons cited by others.

Did he?

I don't know what really goes on behind the scenes but I can't imagine any AD or president at any school in America could be thrilled or happy dealing with non stop negativity/allegations being thrown around with their athletic programs.
