Was just reflecting on this the other day. Went from ‘05-‘09. Played high school ball with Glen Dorsey and Buzzy Haydel. Got to watch both win a natty. Pretty surreal.

I have one going, likely to LSU, in the fall. It's our youngest daughter, but it just makes the most sense for her to go to LSU given the state financial incentives. Hope she has a blast.

4.5 years as an LSU undergrad. Fall 2003 - Fall 2007. Memories that will last a lifetime. Stayed in BR till summer of 2010 and went to a lot of baseball games, so 2008-2009 baseball seasons hold a special place in my heart. Even saw some Hornets games at the PMAC during the 2005 season.

Late 80’s was the best time to be at LSU. Football, basketball and baseball all kicked arse. And the parties in Tigerland were epic. As much out side as inside because there was no open container laws yet and everyone went out. There was no internet.

09-13 here

Just missed 2009 CWS. Got the 2011 SECCG. Loss the 2011 BCSNCG.

This was a good stretch:

2017 Baseball (Runner Up)
2019 Football

2023 Baseball
2023 WBB
2024 Gymnastics
2025 Baseball

2003-2008

2 national titles in football
2 SEC titles
3 SEC West titles

Basketball final four

WBB final four

I guess that was a pretty down time for baseball but they already had won a few championships.

I count my blessings daily, and one of my huge ones is being an undergrad from Fall 1994 through Spring 1998. I hardly ever missed attending a baseball game, and I watched Skip’s show every Sunday night. I’m also thankful I went back and worked part time on my masters degree during Saban’s tenure. I attended every one of his coach’s shows. Those were some of the greatest times of my 49 and 1/2 years.

if you want to go with a strict 4 years.

Fall of 2005-Spring 2009

So that’s football season 2005-2008
Basketball season 05-06 to 08-09

Baseball Season 2006-2009

That gets you the 2007 Football Natty
2006 Final 4
2009 Baseball National Championship.

in total its 2 trips to Omaha
4 Bowl Wins
2 BCS Bowl Wins
2 NCAA basketball tournaments
Round of 32

You also get to see 2 head coaches get fired. overall not bad.

I was there fall 01 to spring 08 and it would be hard to beat that 7 years.

3 SEC titles, 2 natties, and a final 4

Even WBB was good during that run

Most importantly, I think LSU got at/around the highest ranking in US News during that time period, too

I was at LSU from fall of '07 to Summer of 2012.

That was a hell of a time to be an LSU fan.

02-07 is hard to beat. I will say this for the rest of my life but the '03 National Championship is by far the biggest and most impactful thing to happen in LSU Sports that no other Championship can compete with. We had not experienced a Championship of that caliber since '58 and to do so in the State of Louisiana was historic. I have not seen a celebration even come close to that one.

I understand baseball had gone downhill but when Football finally broke through it just meant more. '11 and '19 were excellent football seasons and '19 mended a lot of wounds with the fans but '03 was different. Being a season ticket holder since graduating college and there was never that energy that '03 brought. And anyone who was in the stands during '03 like I was and after would tell you the energy was just different.

I assume the partying in the 80s and 90s (pre Ben Wynn) was epic but the football sucked arse.
This. Arrived in BR in 88 and the football was on the last year of a pretty good run from 84 to 88 but it got worse the whole time I was in BR. However, we did have Shaq and Chris Jackson put on a show in basketball and the partying was epic.

I was fall 09 through spring 14. Just missed out on baseball title but got 2013 Omaha trip. Football was very good and 2011 kicked arse except for 01/09/2011. Basketball was pretty bad.
Shockingly not a super great time period.

My sister had a great one. Fall 97 through winter 2001. 2 baseball titles, 2000 basketball season and the early rise of the Saban era. My dad brought her to the 2002 sugar bowl as a part of her graduation present.

Yes, this was my time at LSU. The Bengal was our favorite bar.

06-12 was pretty great the first 3 years, then ended with a lot of heartbreak to Alabama. 9-6 was still pretty epic though in ‘11. The bama game in ‘12 was great as well even though we lost.

But man, Florida ‘07, auburn ‘06, football natty ‘07, baseball natty ‘09, and Marcus Thornton / big baby / Thomas… that was an epic stretch.
