I love to play a team in a highly competitive game.
It just seems ULL is not capable of this because of
their intense hated for LSU. When you call out a team
and they put you in your place, you just admit that you
got beat. You don't have numerous players try to get in fights after playing very rough the entire game trying to
intimidate our players. Then your coach goes after our
coach for throwing back in his face what he's been doing
the last several days.

Rivalries should be hard fought, clean games with the loser admitting defeat and vowing to get them next time while complimenting the victor.

Wade is exactly what LSU needed. Not just LSU basketball, LSU athletics as a whole.

As an LSU fan I did not realize what we were getting with Wade. I know now, and it has me more excited as I have ever been about the future of LSU basketball. This guy's future is bright as anyone in our athletic department in any sport.

This right fricking here!

No, this is not the NCAA finals, but it is symbolically important.
LSU basketball is at or near the very bottom and USL has their best team in a long time and they tried to use this historic anomaly to trash us. At home. Instead they embarrassed themselves this all the trash talk. AND, we know with this coach we are on the way up in a big way.
And, no, after this crap, I see no reason why we should ever schedule USL again. La Tech, if we wanted to schedule an in-state team, has a better program and handle themselves with much more class.

Good thing you added the disclaimer. Almost thought you might be a homosexual for a second. Close call!

And guess what? If y'all wouldn't have played UL tonight, you may never have realized this type of atmosphere and intensity was possible under Wade. This is what many are trying to say... UL and LSU playing every year just makes sense. The hatred and intensity sells tickets, is ridiculously entertaining, and makes for exciting basketball. And Cajun fans travel very well for a mid-major.

I said it in another thread and I'll say it again... make us play in BR every year for all I care. Keep calling us little brother. It's hilarious and entertaining. But for God sakes, let's keep playing this series. Why not? You win every time anyway right?

. . . no wait . . .

We need to give thanks to the U-La-La coach for instigating this whole thing.
He was trying to stir things up with the NIT & LSU, what he did was open a can of Whoop-arse on his own team.
Again, thanks Bobb Martin or Marlin whatever your name is.
Mess with the bull, you gonna get the horn.

I get what you're saying, and I applaud the voices of reason amidst all this. There's two sides to this coin...playing in-state schools is good for this state overall. But playing in-state schools might be not be in LSU's best interest.

Add in that our coach and your coach have apparently got off on the wrong foot. Unless both agree to make nice and bury the hatchet...in public...LSU will not be playing ULL in the near future.

Call me crazy, but this situation is not of Will Wade's making IMO.

I was at the game at Georgia and we were getting robbed by the zebras late in the game. Wade was starting to get pretty aggravated and during the time out I yelled "what can you do, coach?" He looked up at me, smiled, shrugged and shook his head. It was hilarious and my son got a real kick out of it.

Well put and I agree completely. Everyone in the office started chirping about the game this morning. UL and LSU grads. I think Marlin strategically is trying to start what I will call loosely a "rivalry". I hope it works and UL plays LSU every year.

Lolz. No.

Maybe for ULL. There is literally zero reason for LSU to want to play ULL every year.

Good thing we have a real coach who is recruiting great players so our team will sell tickets instead.

Great post! Make LSU great again And one more thing, I think coach O will do the same if the fans give him a fair chance.

I would be happy making the tourney every year, maybe even an elite eight appearance here and there.

I swear I’ll never understand fans like you. Simply scared to death to actually hope and aim for championships. You need to go hang out with the “I’m happy with 9-10 wins a year, a good bowl game, and maybe an occasional top 10 finish”. News flash...to make championships your goal doesn’t make you greedy or selfish.

Sounds like he is simply being honest and realistic.

I also would be happy with being a consistent tourney team. Would be great to win it all, but it wouldn't ruin things if we don't.

Let's not go overboard. It was a one possession game late, they had the ball with a chance to tie or take the lead under 2 minutes. That isn't a can of Whoop-arse. Had we rolled to a 20 pt lead and stayed there the entire game, that would be the case.

He should have acted like he had been someplace and acted like coaching was his profession.

From what I understand, he did shake the ULL players hands and most of his actions were directed at their coach (who acted even worse).

Poor sportmanship in victory is never cool, nor is singing STTDB (unless it is after we whip Alabama).
