I live in Texas and I always see different folks wearing LSU merchandise when I am out and about. It never fails that when I say something like "Go Tigers" they stare at me like I am making fun of them.

Is there some recognized, quick fan comment that you can give out to give a quick nod to a fellow tiger fan without getting into a 2 hour conversation about the quad. Thanks.

I say "Don't shoot the ball, Jose."

j/k. I don't think there is any trick to it if they know you are a Tiger as well.

They may have lived in Dallas too long. Say Geaux Tigers to me, and I'll most likely run up and give you a chest bump. MOVE TO AUSTIN!

i have to admit, i was wearing an LSU shirt one time and someone told me they liked my shirt.

at first i did not even remember what i was wearing and then i did not know if he was being serious or not.

just sometimes it can completely take a person by surprise.

now that i have been here longer i respond a little quicker. also i now see how many LSU fans there are in houston.

was in the wal mart in gulf shores last friday and everytime i saw someone with LSU gear (often btw) they either said Geaux Tigers to me or I said it to them first

also nothing better than walking around alabama with a LSU hat on right now, the Gumps and Barners literally have nothing to say to you

I think you did the right thing. If they stare at you like you're making fun of them, they're not real fans. Next time it happens run at them brandishing clenched fists, rip the LSU accessory off their person, and take it to someone who deserves to wear it. Say "Go Tigers!" again, flip 'em the bird, and move on.

Geaux Tigers always gets a response in my experience.

(And I can second whoever said that there are plenty of Tiger fans in Gulf Shores/Destin area. Was there last week and it was full of Tiger fans)

Hey Babytac...

Next time I'm walking down 6th street and scream GEAUX TIGAHS at a tiger fan and get a chest bump... I'll know it's you.

Then you can buy a fellow tiger fan a beer?

If you say it right (GOOOOOOO ti-GAHHHHHHSSSSS!!!), a true Tigah fan will respond accordingly. I ran into one wearing an LSU cap at the Home Depot in Maplewood, MN, gave him the cheer, and we had a nice little chat for 10 minutes.

It's started spreading up here in DC, finally. I've gotten more comments on my LSU gear in the last 8-12 months than I think I'd gotten in the previous 9 years I'd been up here.

The Tiger nation is growing!

was in destin three weeks ago. went a few places with an lsu shirt on or a hat. got a lot of gueax tigahs from fellow fans. even had the misery/luxury of talking to an alabama fan. my daughter was riding a ride and when i walked up, each time she passed she would yell 'daddy look'. this guy turns around and said, 'i think she said roll tide'. i responded with, we don't curse in our household a-hole.

Thanks for the advice, sounds like the problem is with the other guys, not me. I will add a chest bump and see where that gets me.
