My point is you don't know that your "missing link" would be up to bat with runners in scoring position in those games that we lost by 1 or 2. You also dont know that your Superman would even hit the ball in those specific scenarios.
We all agree that if things had been better we would have won. But to put a blanket statement that if we had "X" in those games, that we would have won....you just don't know.
I have read back on your posts and you are a self-proclaimed know-it-all about anything LSU. I'm all for fans but its posters like you that I consider more "posers" than posters.[/quote]
1)my point is if you had the big 1st base stick in the middle of the line up, he may or may not have been at the plate to win. however, he opens things up for the other hitters. especially mahtook at 3 and nola at 5. it changes everything. all hitters benefit. rymes leads off, hanover 2nd, jones 6th. it makes your line up stronger and over 9 innings, you produce more runs. you may not be in those one run games.
2) You didn't search my history because i've never "proclaimed" myself as "self-proclaimed know-it-all about anything LSU". That would be your interpretation.
I have an opinion just like you do. i have the right to express that opinion just like you do. i didn't realize your the only one with the right to express yours.
did i attack you? no. did you attack me? yes. "I hate these stupid blanket statements"
if you can't have a civil conversation with out calling people names who may have a different opinion than you, then GROW UP!

A lineup like
LF Watkins/Ware
3B Hanover
DH Rhymes
CF Mahtook
SS Nola
RF Katz
C Ross
1B Edward/Lowery/Eades
2B J Jones
THIS!
Jones is not doing much being shifted around the lineup anyways so giving him more at bats is not really helping him anyways. We should move him back into the 9th spot and worry about moving him next season. 1B is going to be the issue all season

Watkins is batting .212. No way should he be anywhere near the leadoff position.

Not with his current batting average, but that lineup is issued with the hope that he gets back to where he was at the beginning of last season and early on this season. The team has had lots of success with him in the leadoff spot.

“It’s a very tough loss, one in which we didn’t execute like we should have at certain times,” said LSU coach Paul Mainieri. “We had some opportunities early that we didn’t capitalize on, and that hurt us later in the game.
wow what a quote from pm.

Mahtook is getting it done on offensive and defense. Mccune and Gausman really look good. What other talent do you see?

A few years back they were regulars in the CWS. Now not so much. I never liked the demeanor of this new manager who seems like a wimp.
Time to fire him and hire someone good, who has a fiery personality.
At least have a manager who hates to lose more than the fans and shows some emotion. Yeah i know kicking the cooler and throwing stuff does not make him smarter, but it at least shows he is into the game.
The expectation used to be CWS. Now what is it?

I don't really follow college baseball much, but it would be interesting to know how the changes in transfer rules have affected LSU. It seems like LSU used to benefit from the old rule quite a bit.
