What the heck is OM doing in the transfer portal that LSU isn't?

Kelly is looking to build out of high school instead of one and done guys. OM is also hiring one year mercenaries that are in it for the money. They’ll have a great year this coming season but it’s not a model built for long term success.

Ole Miss is aggressively pursuing the best of the best in the portal and is using NIL strongly to back their aggressive recruitments. LSU is not.

this...OM knows they will never be able to out recruit other SEC powers and build the depth through high school ranks so they are taking advantage of the portal in an attempt to catch lightning in the bottle, the portal is hit and miss as we saw this past year with our defense...

Unfortunately, using the portal is the way if the college football future. It takes too long to build a program these days without it.
Even Ga, as good a roster as they have from top recruiting the last few years, is signing real studs in the transfer portal while we watch. LSU can't beat those teams with 5 star players with 3-4 star HS players.

It would’ve been great to get Richardson from Miss St at corner but he’s a senior and would take reps from Toviano and Stamps. I’d rather get 2-3 years of development from them than a maybe with Richardson.

With the 12 team playoff, OM is in a decent position next year.
Returning QB from a 10-win team, and they don't have to play Bama next year.
They likely start 6-0 coming to LSU on Oct 12.
If they can go 4-2 vs LSU, OU, Arkansas, UGA, UF, and MSU to finish the season, they are in the playoff. That would be monumental for OM.

Honestly by QB recent history we are 1 yr away. It took Burrow until year 2 to click and it took Daniels year 2 to click. I expect the same with Nuss and better chemistry with WRs in year 2. So yeap we are another year away.

Georgia has signed ettiene (one real stud). They got a few other guys but none other are all American all conference players so far in their careers
