Why not both?
Posted on 11/30/15 at 8:20 am to Choupique19
I showed up to cheer for the Tigers!
Posted on 11/30/15 at 8:21 am to Choupique19
I was cheering and applauding Miles before the game as a thank you for all he did at LSU. I in no way meant it as "keep Miles" support.
I feel used this morning.

Les used you. You were rode hard and hung up wet.

Whatever fans did after the game had no impact on the decision, so don't feel too bad. The announcement was made before everyone left the stadium. I didn't see Alleva out there with one of those applause-o-meters with half saying fire him and half saying keep him.

Could be. Just trying to get some other opinions on the matter.

All this negatiger/positiger divisional bullshite distorts the real issue at hand here, and that's the way this was handled, not whether you feel Les should be canned or not, or whether you're a sunshine pumping LM fan or not.
Truth is, I think most people would side with treating Les Miles with respect, and just parting ways, but it's the manner in which it is done that's the issue here.
I am and was in support of parting ways with Les Miles, but not at the risk to LSU's reputation, and looking like a bunch of butt hurt half cocked crazy people, and that's how it looked, because that's how little thought was put into it, just like deciding in the third quarter we are going to keep him. WTF is that about?

I/we were cheering out of respect not to stay necessarily but how could one ever know for a whole stadium?
It's not like the PA system asked for cheers in favor one way or the other.

Agree. We came off like the spoiled brats from grown ups complaining to their maid about their hot cocoa.

the Miles haters don't care about LSUs reputation or percepton...they care only about getting rid of Les Miles.
I had already given in to the possibility that he was gone and was excited to see who would be replacing him. Some people here have actually bailed on LSU...the team they supposedly love. that's some bullshite

When 50,000 people applaud/cheer in Tiger Stadium - even as a 'thank you' - its going to be loud. Media/administration totally misinterpreted it.

This thread is eerily similar to those threads that say "WE WEREN"T BOOING THE PLAYERS WE WERE BOOING LES!"
I guess the anti Les LSU fans need to stop making any noise at this point.

The support in Tiger Stadium for Les Miles was pretty amazing. The fans I spoke with before the game were overwhelmingly in favor of keeping him, and that seemed to be the case where I was sitting.
The majority of the national media thought that it was crazy to fire Les; that should tell you internet football geniuses something.

Again with this BS. The number can be counted on one hand. And it's no different than those of you on your side that were saying LSU deserved bad things for getting rid of Les.

Does wanting a coaching change make one a Miles "hater"?
Assuming Fisher would have come to LSU, once that actually happened, the nation would have understood and the story forgotten within 24 hours. Now, every time LSU with Miles is on tv - and loses - the media will be able to openly speculate about LSU booster actions in Baton Rouge.

I don't get your take on this thread
I think the overwhelming percentage of people thought they were seeing the last of Les Saturday night and were showing their gratitude and thanking him
the players, the crowd, the media, even Les, all acted and thought he was gone
it really was a great sendoff...all to be ruined by that awkward Alleva announcement

Idiot LSU boosters brought this on themselves especially that moron that was running his mouth before the Ole Miss game.
Proves the point that just because you have money, you can still be a moron.

Great point. I've never booed LSU before, but if F King Whoever he is thinks that the fan support before the game when Les waved his hat to the crowd meant that the fans wanted him to stay, I have to believe that it's perfectly acceptable to boo the team when they are playing poorly so that F King Whathisname will get the feeling that the fans are not happy.
